Rain, rain, what few crops are in Wee Little Farm at the moment will survive! I am also trying to capture some in order to pour it into my now-empty rain barrels.

Yesterday I did something I thought I’d never do. After dropping my bike off at ITP-Reader Barb’s, I drove to Schoolhouse Brewing to pick up my four pack and left without drinking a beer. Hangovers are ruthless!

Wee Little Farm is off to a struggling start. For some reason four of the six pepper plants I put out last week he died. That’s annoying, especially since these were plants I purchased at Lowe’s, which means that they cost me more money than the priced of a seed and compost. Hopefully the seeds I planted a few weeks ago will continue to grow, and all won’t be lost.

I wish I could understand why certain critters do the damage they do. I went out to Wee Little Farm the other morning to find all of the little tree seedlings in one of my pots either eaten away, or pulled from the soil.

Because I’ve been receiving mysterious password reset emails for this blog I’ve had to add another layer of “security” by enabling two factor authentication for my accounts. If in the future no updates occur, or if you get automatically get taken to some betting/porn website, you know I’ve been hacked and my efforts have been for naught.

I think that I am late, but over the weekend I planted the pecans I was keeping in the refrigerator to pots. Though I doubt that I will be planting any more trees at the ITP Estate, I am hoping someone will want the trees I have been growing from seed this year.

On Saturday I attended the GA Tech baseball game and witnessed the team’s greatest comeback. When the rain started in the second inning, causing a delay, GA Tech was down 10-0; they wound up winning the game 14-11.

Surprisingly I wasn’t mad to see the rather large bunny sitting in Wee Little Farm as I went outside to collect my mail at 4pm. It didn’t see,d to concerned about me either, until I walked toward the grass in which it then hid, and it scampered away. I’m not sure the bunny ate anything, yet, at least the lettuce on which u expected it to have consume was unscathed.

As I watched Atlanta United play in a seriously empty stadium they gave up an equalizer goal to New England. And then five minutes later they gave up a second goal. I turned the game off after that. They are a terrible team, again. I predict that they will finish near the bottom of their standings, and that head coach Tata Martinez will retire at season’s end.

Last night’s ride was good, but it was also our last hurrah parking in the Melton’s parking lot. Upon our return we all had papers on our windshields “kindly” informing us that parking is for customers and towing will be enforced in the future.

A couple of weeks ago an animal, I’m assuming Betsy’s dog, left a “present” in the far reaches of Wee Little Farm. Upon discovering it I dug a shallow hole and buried it. Yesterday I discovered that some other animal had discovered it, and excavated the area, digging a hole, exposing a tree root, and probably consuming whatever was left of the excrement.

I’m still waiting for the Fed to drop the money they owe me from my income taxes into my bank account. The State has already dipped its greedy hands into the same account to pull out what I owed them.

Bacon, Beer Bread, Sourdough Starter Discard Waffles… yesterday morning was a making morning. I also learned that using cold bacon fat in lieu of cold butter was not the greatest idea for my beer bread; the outcome was fine but far messier.

I planted some cucumber seeds to replace the plants which were taken from me by some critter. I may have to wait until there plants are bigger before transplanting in an effort to help the, survive.

Tonight I ride again! At least I hope so…

Well, Spring Tune Up is over and I had a great time. I rode pretty well getting in 53 miles on Friday, 47 miles on Saturday (including a beer and wings stop), and 0 miles yesterday. Unfortunately the weather turned sour on Sunday morning by becoming chilly and very windy, so I didn’t ride.

Though I feel it would have been a once in a lifetime opportunity, I was almost glad that I never got a ticket to see Anna Lapwood perform in Athens last night. After finally getting the car unloaded I caught up on a lot of lost sleep.

I find spending time outdoors in and around Wee Little Farm to be fascinating. In the past two weeks I have encountered lizards, a skink living amongst some bricks, and a solitary bee who has made its home between empty compost bags. Prior to the clearing of the backyard, creation of WLF, and subsequent lifestyle change, I probably would have never noticed any of these.

I have a feeling that when I return from Spring Tune Up I am going to have to kickstart my life again. I mentioned a return to reading the other day, but additionally I need to start decluttering my house, and dedicating myself to do the things which I deem worthy and enjoyable. This is not to say I find spending time riding my bikes and drinking beers with my friends unworthy nor unenjoyable, you understand; in fact, I hope to do a lot more of these two activities this year.

Even though I whined about the hassle the occurred for me to enter the Decatur Library the other day, I do want to go in record as saying what a benefit public libraries are. If you live in a mostly digital world, I highly recommend downloading and using the Libby app to access books and audiobooks, as well as looking in to Kanopy to see if you can watched videos thanks to your local library.

In the vein of the old quip “Q: How do you eat an elephant? A: One bite at a time.” I am reading the book “The Partly Cloudy Patriot” by Sarah Vowell. How do these two relate? I am reading this book one short story per day, and will eventually finish it. Up until last month I was reading a lot. However, the siren of warmer weather, some exercising, and a lot of screen time has stymied that.

Off to Spring Tune Up today hoping that my bicycle and body both respond accordingly.
