Don’t look now, but after today eight months of 2026 are history; that’s two-thirds of the year.
I’m ready for the heat to go away. It’s so hot that I rarely go outside after noon.
I did force myself to walk to WLF@UFO yesterday afternoon in order to water. I was rewarded with two large, ripe tomatoes on my plants! I also picked up some wire shelving that was being thrown out by somebody and lugged it home. This shelving is useful as trellises in Wee Little Farm.

Flight from ATL – AMS on time, now we are delayed going to Split.
The chick’s microphone is not loud at all, so Allan is walking over closer to hear what she is saying. Tons of people around these gates, not sure what’s happening.

They put us on a bus, we drove around the tarmac, and are now loading outside, it’s very breezy – at least it isn’t raining.

We met Kevin (the Games senior drum major) and one of the event directors outside the gate and were escorted into the tattoo. Watched the pipe bands tune up. Very cool.
Lots of cool stuff in old castles. Just completed a whisky tour and tasting. The tasting would have been better if I didn’t have a cold.

After my second guess there were (at least) six words with a different first letter followed by the same four letters I had in the correct place, I played four of the wrong ones leading to my failure.
We made it to Split- decided to save money & are taking a bus. Hotel sounded half way serious about the 3pm checkin time, so it’s 2pm now, we should get there about 2:30
1.5 hr delay
No later than 3pm, or no earlier than 3pm? If I were hotel I’d be serious, it would be my business…
What was your other travel option, a taxi?

Trying to decide how I will entertain myself today. I’ve already knocked off two chores, and have showered, so the thought of going out and sweating is unappealing.
I guess Tadej Poga?ar won’t be winning the Vuelta since he crashed out on Saturday.
Fucking WordPress can’t even render the foreign character in Pogacar. I’m fucking over this piece of shit software and am contemplating throwing in the towel.
It’s 88° here, or as I should say 31°. Weather app says 51% humidity, but I think it’s higher than that.
Hotel is not in town, but right on the water. It will be an uber ride to go see any sights, but I haven’t slept, we have to get up early, so we may save that for Thursday.
On what day does the riding begin?
It is amusingly coincidental that Steve and Debbie are in Edinburgh, and then I look at my FB memories and I was in Edinburgh 9 years ago on the same dates! So I’m looking at their pics and then scrolling through mine of the same places. And then 9 years ago today we got up really early in Edinburgh and took the train to Gretna Green to get married.
We went to the Braves game yesterday, I didn’t think it was *that* hot. Later in the week it’s supposed to be upper 90s, that’s just unacceptable.
My walk to/from UFO yesterday around 4pm was rather hot, especially in the sun.
Oh, I’m sure it was brutal then. I was in air conditioning by that time.
Back to the house (Air BnB) after a delightful whisky tour and tasting, lunch at the pub, and a stop at a cooperage. No new barrels (well, not many) but recertification the old barrels from bourbon, sherry, and other spirits. Reband, new ends, new bung hole, water test, done. Neato!
Feel like crap, may skip dinner.
