Due to an act of dipshittedness I am (may be?) growing a lot of beets this Fall. I made a decision to put some beet seeds in the ground prior to the smattering of rain over last weekend. What I forgot to do was bring the packet of seeds back indoors, so, the seeds got wet. The only solution to this problem was to sow the entire packet of seeds. Wish me luck, as having too many beets is not a problem in my world.
On Wednesday night I baked the best, ugliest, pizza I have ever made. It was my first go at using my new pizza steel, and launching the pie onto it using a wooden pizza peel. The pie stuck to the peel, because apparently I didn’t use enough semolina on the peel, and the (somewhat) circular pie went pie shape into a heart shape. However, the ripping hot pizza steel gave the pie an incredible bottom, unlike any pizza I have baked previously.

Up early to meet the golf cart man at 7. He’s busy today, delivering to us as well as the Pride parade.
Grabbed Meg and drove to meet Debbie for dinner and to swap trucks. “Her” truck doesn’t get used on the Games field as it’s too nice.

Since the backup babysitter took Finn off to the movies we went to Thinking Man for dinner. We both thought our food was only okay.
I am the only person in the office today. Like, it’s a good thing I came in because the dean’s suite would be closed otherwise. WTF?

I’m making a chicken tortellini brothy (is brothy even a word?) soup for dinner tonight – it seemed like a good idea since it isn’t hot out
Is it chicken in the tortellini or is it chicken with cheese tortellini? Costco has really good tortellini.
chicken is separate – we haven’t bought the tortellini yet – that’s the lunch outing – need fresh spinach too – it also has some diced tomatoes – and then some cream cheese to make it not so brothy.

and – we still have plenty of frozen turkey broth – and soon it will be Thanksgiving, and we will make more broth!
Homemade broth is the best! The past couple years I’ve started putting a dab of miso paste in it and it makes the flavor that much better.

Was looking forward to trying a new to me brewery today, but, even though the rain won’t be as bad as it could be, it might behoove me to drive home immediately following the conclusion of what I am doing today.
Since the likelihood that I will be going to Porchfest Tonya low, I was going to plant trees in East Atlanta tomorrow to rack up some more Trees Atlanta hours. Well, Trees Atlanta has canceled all of tomorrow’s projects!
