Happy 23rd anniversary to this blog!
Trying to figure a lot of shit out, some of which would improve my life(style) greatly. Vague much? Expect me to be disconnected for today and tomorrow as I will be busy doing shit and not checking in often.
Hoping the weather forecast for this weekend is as wrong as it was for last, since I really want to go to Oakhurst Porchfest via bicycle on Saturday.
Wordle: six, my starter was HAPPY (an absolute shitty starter but appropriate for today’s date)
Even though my commutes yesterday were harder than I expected, arduous, and at points dangerous, I am glad I did them. Ask me again next week when I do them again and pay about 5x more than I did yesterday for car repairs.
After reviewing my Wordle board today, I made a boneheaded mistake and probably deserved to fail.
Wordle in 5 and don’t know the word.
I think I’m packed. A few last minute things, pack up the trailer and roll. In replacing the trim rubber between the roof and sides yesterday, the close inspection showed the trailer in really good shape, except for needing a bath. That will happen when I get back.
Happy blogaversary! I’m glad you’ve stuck with it and I hope we still bring you joy. We certainly try our best!

Allan washed our camper before heading to Clemson. Said it looked bad, so we couldn’t take it that way
Washing a camper is a necessary job but pain in the ass. Don’t forget to closely inspect the roof while you are up there. Pinhole in the membrane can do serious damage.
I’m hoping to have a camper washing problem soon 🙂
are you going to get that toy hauler?
Most likely, if we can make the numbers work. We will see.
The roof looked pretty good. I did clean off the trickle charge solar panels, which were just dusty..
I only know the word in its past tense.
I don’t comment, usually, but felt the need to do so today. Like me, I know you’ll be celebrating the 70th anniversary of one of baseball’s greatest events today. Don Larsen’s perfect game in the 1956 World Series. The only perfect game ever thrown in the World Series. The month and year I was born. What a great year for baseball and the world. hahaha
Hey Sal! Indeed, a momentous day.
that is a weird random bit of knowledge there
I’ve only watched one perfect game, that was David Wells for the Yankees in ’98. Don Larsen happened to be in the stands at that game, and they kept turning the camera on him. It was pretty cool, even if it was the Yankmes.
What is so happy about 10/8? I must be missing something.
Our regular nanny is on vacation and our backup babysitter picks Finn up from school and takes him off to the movies or the arcade and doesn’t bring him home until after 8:00 pm. So we just went to Barbacoa for tacos because we knew they had the game on. Braves got knocked out last night, so the tyranny of baseball is finally over for a few months. I love it when it begins, and I love it when it ends. 🙂
I have no idea either about 10/08
Nothing happy about 10/8, isn’t it when Paulie got robbed in his driveway?
OH, that makes sense. Irony!
On 10/08/2003, when blogging was “cool”, I published my first post known as InsideThePerimeter. This was two months after my carjacking, which occurred on 08/08/2003.
Wordle in 4 today
nothing interesting going on at all
I heard Chalktoberfest at the Marietta Square is cancelled due to the rainy forecast – I guess you can’t do chalk drawings on the streets in the rain – who’d have thunk it.
no Brewery Road at Porchfest this year………
No Brewery Road? A travesty!!!
Quick check in. Returned home from Trees Atlanta, driving there today to deliver something I found on the road that they can use. Driving turned out to be beneficial as I purchased two plants from their tree sale inventory and I could bring them home.
Lunch eaten, the rest of the homemade pizza I baked last night. Taking a twenty minute break before heading outside to do some work in my yard.
Oh yeah. Working at Trees Atlanta’s nursery this morning I was weeding some trees in pots. I moved the pot and went to pick up a pile of leaves which was between the pots and a small rat, large mouse?, probably small rat, ran out from the leaves and scurried away!
I would have jumped & dropped the pot!
I won’t say that I didn’t let out a little Aaaah! 😀
Last week my dog chased a squirrel right over my feet and I about died.
I just “planted” mushrooms in a bed of wood chips. I have not had much luck with mushrooms, so I hope they produce.
The Eagle has landed. All utilities connected and the rig is even level. A first in a long while. Starlink ain’t gonna happen as I have no North clear sky. Fortunately the phone seems to be doing OK.
Paulie, 18 years ago today I changed my FB status to “On days like today, I’m glad that gyms exist.” And you were the first comment with, “On days like today, I’m glad that bars exist.” Some things never change!
Just went to read the ITP post from that day (Oct 8, 2008) and apparently it was raining.
That’s hilarious!
