Last Friday I mentioned reading, and finishing, more of the books I have. Along those lines I have decided to allow myself to abandon books which just aren’t working for me. One such book was “Crying in H Mart”. I read more than half of this book and realized that I just didn’t care that much about the author’s life, so it has been abandoned.
EAV Strut was fun. I saw the parade, ate some boiled peanuts, drank some beer, listened to a band, and then helped break down booths. The only benefit of working the breakdown shift was driving a golf cart around to pick up the tables and tents.
Between wood chips, Trees Atlanta, and EAV Strut I have worked harder during the past four days than I have in a long time.
Wordle: five, my starter was USAGE
Wordle in 6! I suppose one of my guesses was very unlikely in the NYT.
Saturday I road whipped while Debbie hunted on Tanner and we had another rider on Walter. Both were exceptional! At one point, the hounds were at full cry close to the road and I thought I was going to be in the way, but their quarry turned.
Saturday evening, an excellent Italian dinner in Lagrange. We both realized we don’t support that place enough.
Sunday, 23 miles pretty early. Troubleshot my link to the man cave and have ordered replacement equipment to arrive today- thanks, Amazon.
Off to a hearing check shortly.

And how about Brandon McNulty winning Worlds in Montreal! Go ‘merica!
Nice. I’ve not been paying attention.
I know something was going on in the bike race world – Kevin sent a pic on our family Whats App group. I had no idea what it was about
Giving myself a break today, it’s a lazy Monday for me.
Someone told me over the weekend that they started closing the streets again for the Strut. That is great for the Strut, sounds like you had a good time, Paulie!
Kevin’s birthday dinner at Kevin Rathbun Steak was fabulous, and we were home early enough to watch baseball. Saturday and Sunday we just sat on the couch and watched sports. Yesterday I watched the Patriots lose on one TV and the Red Sox lose on the other TV. Good times.
Streets were closed. I was surprised by the lack of vendor tents, especially along Flat Shoals. However, this turned out to be beneficial when I had to drive the golf cart there to pick up some supplies.
camping weekend went well –
my mtn biking skills were lacking (or maybe the trail was just too hard on the 1st half – right Bob?)
I skipped the trail after the beer stop – one of my 3 crashes actually hurt, so I decided I’d had enough – and then to hear that the rest of the trail was fun.
Watched the Jets almost win yesterday at the Wing – met some friends over there we hadn’t seen in a couple years.
Met my buddy Chip at Westside Pizza yesterday afternoon and saw the end of that game there. Oh well, my Jets are being their Jets self.
Ran into Vanessa / Hot Pocket at Westside Pizza as well.
Came home and passed out for the night. My had laboring combined with the beer did me in.
Crashes are why I quit mountain biking. I didn’t enjoy the riding enough to justify the risk of injury.
Yes, “Laura’s trail” was much nicer. I’ll start with that one next time 🙂
Fun weekend camping and riding. Good times and good memories of Midget around the camp fire. This was our second camping trip with Izzy and sleeping in a tent. I think I have Laura convinced that we need another camper 🙂
For some reason the thought of Paulie running around on a golf cart scares me, did anybody get run over?
It was a gas powered golf cart, and I may have gotten into a Manhattan cab driver mindset, but no one was harmed with me at the wheel. 🙂
Audiologist done and hearing aids tuned up. Debbie heard her say I should be wearing them 10 hours a day at least, so I’m under orders.
Did make it to the car show in Senoia on Saturday- 700 cars!
Don’t you just wear them whenever you want to hear things?
I was instructed to wear them most waking hours. My brain will start getting better at filtering out “noise” and I’ll be able to make them more useful. She adjusted the spectrum to align with my hearing needs and I can tell a difference. Even riding in the car was bearable- that’s normally a lot of background noise but it was manageable.
and Bob – I ran the microwave & toaster at the same time – no breaker tripped at our house!!!
(for those that weren’t camping, it was a discussion)
Yeah, it’s on the agenda to isolate those circuits.
It was 53 degrees when I left for work this morning. I was not prepared so it felt really cold!
