Spent all of yesterday organizing and cleaning The ITP Estate and Week Little Farm.
This is certainly an interesting turn of events. It appears that Bundesliga games will be streamed on Peacock, with the caveat being that the broadcasts are in Spanish. It’s the World Cup all over again! Because the ESPN broadcasts were in English I never improved my German by watching Bundesliga games, perhaps I will start learning Spanish since there will be no English audio/subtitles? 🙂
From Amazon I ordered and received a new HVAC filter this week. How exciting!!! It’s amazing how expensive they are, $58 “on sale”, but they are necessary, especially since my HVAC cranks through summer. I justify purchasing from Amazon because I convert all my financial kickbacks — credit card points, Upside, Seated, Fetch, etc — into Amazon gift cards for the purchase of items.
The yellow band on my 55″ tv is getting larger, and thus more noticeable. I have three options:
- keep using it, even though it’s not ideal
- stop watching (this) tv and do other things
- buy a new tv (waiting for a sale, or Black Friday)
The best answer is probably is a combination of all three…
Wordle: five, my starter was DAIRY. I should quit playing Wordle.
Well, the two people responsible for putting me on this planet apparently have dementia, or at a minimum the delivery person herself does. This according to a Tennessee Adult Protective Services investigator. I answered questions about people I have not seen in person in 17 years as best I could, and forwarded an email from 2013 where I got blamed for actions I carried out at 7 that is basically a receipt saying the sender is still crazy after all these years (apologies to Paul Simon). This is a call I’ve been dreading for years. I asked as few questions as possible, because I do not want to be involved. As the biblical saying goes, you reap what you fucking sow, motherfuckers.
wow David – is that because they live alone (without help?)
Anyway – I know you have a brother – is he involved with them at all?
Do you have any other siblings?
Yep, it would have been on brand for them to be found in a desiccated state months after their death. My brother (and only sibling, thankfully) burned my relationship with him to the ground last year, so I don’t know his status or care.
In case no one told y’all, FAMILY is short for “Fuck, Another Multigenerational Inheritance. Lovely. Yay.”
Yup, just because they’re family doesn’t mean you have to put up with them. They might get more leeway than other people but they still can’t be assholes.
FAMILY – so fun.
my idiot brother still isn’t out of our parents’ house – its been a year now. He’s “waiting” to see if his probation will be over – but something with that keeps getting continued. Or some bullshit like that. I’m not there – so he won’t listen to me if I tell him to get out. Tom needs to raise some hell, but he hasn’t.
Oh, Barb, it sounds like he pretty much has squatters rights at this point.
And Jenka, the goddamn leeway is the entire problem. In the wrong hands, it gets treated like a blank check.
Well, it needs to be “leeway,” not “carte blanche.” One of Kevin’s brothers pushed his leeway too far and we cut him off.
do I play Wordle & make Paulie feel bad (or better) with my guesses?
I will at some point this morning.
Over at the Battery (I know, that place you hate Paulie) there is a pop up old time Cocacola soda fountain making cokes like they did back at the beginning – with the syrup & whatever soda water for a few weeks – I think they close it back down next week.
The Braves are out of town, so we might go over there tonight for a soda & then dinner somewhere. Something different to do.
Also – 10 days until we leave for Croatia – I need to start figuring out what all I need to pack.
wordle in 5 – tied with Paulie
It’s a soda pop up? See what I did there? 🙂
hahahahahahahahaha
Steve, I’m with you that there is nothing more refreshing on a super hot day than a Coke. Although I prefer Diet Coke, the regular Coke is so sweet it’s cloying.
We ordered in from Jinya Ramen. It’s so good, even though they discontinued their spicy miso ramen. Of course I have miso in the fridge so I doctored mine up. Yum.
I’m wondering, but bet there is no diet coke at that pop-up soda fountain. I haven’t had a real Coke in forever – that sugary taste will be very tasty.
Yes, initially I got excited to find that soda fountain next time I’m at the Battery (I didn’t know about it so thank you!) but then I realized they probably don’t have diet. Super sweet beverages are just not for me.
The “entertainment people” before the game, or between innings went there – that’s how I heard about it – it’s not there too long.
We might have to share a drink – it just seemed like a fun thing to try, and an excuse to meet some friends over there for dinner when the team is out of town.
Wordle in 4 with DAIRY! Ha!
Back from 18 on the Iron Horse in Pine Mountain. Wanted to take the Mazda for a little test ride after the tranny service. I was able to reprogram (reset) it last night after 10 failed attempts by the shop. A series of turn it on, shift to this, turn it off, hold your mouth just so, etc. The car’s performance is noticeably better.
On my ride this morning, I got stung by something small that got caught in my jersey. I felt it and then it stung me- whatever it was paid the ultimate price and left his stinger that I pulled out.
Still waiting to hear when the truck will be ready.
Y’all will be in Croatia while we’re in Scotland! Very Cool.
-FP
so – we are going to Scotland next year – mid July – in case you want to schedule a trip. (it might be crazy warm though – you might not want to go to Croatia then)
The last time I was in Scotland in July it was 55 degrees and raining. Lol!
Home from a tough forty on Silver Comet with ITP-Reader Sal this morning.
I’m eating leftovers for lunch prior to what I know will be a great nap. I’ve been weak since 4am.
I bet it was steamy warm
It wasn’t too steamy, but my legs were spent.
Awake from said nap. I was correct, it was great.
