I almost forgot that I had signed up to volunteer at Trees Atlanta yesterday. Fortunately I remembered, and the rain held off so that I could ride the Barcycle on the Beltline.
To Ted Lasso, or not to Ted Lasso, that is the question! The fourth season of Ted Lasso has come to AppleTV. I was such a fan of the show, and thought that it wrapped so brilliantly, that I am conflicted about whether or not I will watch this season that we were told would never be created.

Debbie had taken Walter (and a friend and her horse) to the vet in Columbus yesterday. On returning, they had a flat on 185. First, she could not find the large sockets which live in her truck. Then there was a piece of the shredded tire that jammed behind the brake drum. H.E.R.O. Showed up, but can’t work on trailers (???). They were able to finally cut away the tire so they could make it home, but I think there is more work to be done.
I rode around on the tractor, spraying sweet gum saplings along the fence line with agent orange. I really hate using anything like that, for lots of reasons, but it may have been for naught as we then had almost an inch and a half of rain. We shall see.

We had a senior leadership retreat yesterday which went fine, but it was a looooooong day. I am so glad it’s Friday, this week was good but it was a LOT with the new dean plus the retreat. The new dean is a great person but he has never been an administrator before so I am having to up-manage everything.
I don’t think they would do a 4th season of Ted Lasso unless they knew it was good.
I should hope not, but I’m sure Apple waived a lot of money around to get it made.
we will need to get Apple TV at some point to watch – and there’s some other shows I want to watch – but I hate to pay for more streaming services – not sure how long hte free trail is……..
I mean, of course they spent a lot of money on it. But if it turned out to be bad they would be a laughingstock. I doubt they would release anything that was bad.
We watched the first episode of “Stuart Fails to Save the World” on HBO last night. A spinoff from Big Bang. It was interesting- I’ll give it a chance.
Watching the ladies suffer climbing today. I understand their pain. Hahaha…
I’ve been watching for thirty minutes and there has not been a commercial break! How refreshing!!!
Peacock picks up the TNT feed and they don’t have commercial breaks- at least I don’t hear them do the lead in for them. And the commentators are IMHO excellent. Wednesday, a rider was coming off the back of the lead group and must have been absolutely spent. She was having trouble holding her line and basically swerved left- right into the back of the Shimano moto. And HE got fined and a yellow card! Damn commissaries!

With the NBC/Peacock announcers, they can hand off to commercial. TNT doesn’t do that- with the other grand tours, they rotate the announcers out for breaks!! Nonstop action!

It was good! Not earth shattering, and I like Alons better. But I would definitely get it again and I want to try the flavor that you always get next time.
Last night was our latest adventure in concerts. A washed up Eagle (Don Felder) had most of his set washed out by a thunderstorm. The Guess Who were delayed until 10:05. I’m glad we stuck out out evacuation. They played until 11:45, which means they must have gotten a special weather dispensation from the city for Chastain’s hard cutoff at 11:00.
This was the legit Guess Who, with Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman, not the erstatz Guess Who that has been touring for decades. Randy Bachman was amazing and played a few BTO songs. Burton Cummings was a self-hyping trainwreck, but he did do a few of their hits well enough. I’m glad that I opted for $35 cheap seats, particularly because a venue worker came along and gave us a free upgrade from row HH to row O. You pays your money, and you takes your chances. I was inexplicably only charged $4/each for two hot dogs, instead of $10 each, so it was a budget friendly evening.
Regarding Rush (a topic of discussion recently), I bought floor seats for their first night in November last fall because my brother wanted to go. After our falling out, I kept the tickets, and then planned to StubHub them. However, after seeing some videos from the current tour, especially of Anika Niles, the woman tapped to fill Neil Peart’s enormous shoes, I am all-in on seeing Rush again. It’ll be the first time seeing the same band in two different buildings on the same patch of dirt (the Omni and now State Farm Arena). Styx reminded me that when a band really shows up, it’s a transcendent experience that you can’t put a price on. I can tell from the videos that Rush is really going to bring it this time. They had no reason to keep touring, but they searched the world and found a new drummer.
Not exactly a Rush fan, I know Neil Peart through his motorcycle writings. He was well loved in the BMW community and there was much sorrow when he passed.

If I were making the income I was before exiting the working world going to see Rush would be a no brainer for me. As I’ve not received a paycheck in five years, it’s no longer in my budget. It should be awesome but I have to be financially smart and pass on it.
