There are productive days, and unproductive days. Yesterday was the latter…
I made a pretty incredible, and incredibly sloppy, pizza last night. I made the dough on Tuesday, keeping it in the refrigerator until about an hour before baking. The pie was sloppy because I used “real” mozzarella, ham, and pepperoni.

Only thing that would have made last night’s pizza better would have been to bake it in the little wood pellet pizza oven I bought last month. Too hot and too high chance of rai pan for its maiden voyage last night.

Allan & Rohan ran some errands, we took him to Which Wich for late lunch, and then they shot pool all afternoon.
My refrigerator has had a fan/motor noise occasionally – which it is usually very, very silent – so I had “my” appliance repair guy some over – he can’t find anything wrong. He told us what to watch for. I really don’t have time for it to completely die & then we’d need to get a new one – so I decided a service call was worth some piece of mind.

Yesterday wasn’t the best day to pour concrete, but I managed. Because where I’m adding the mix is tapered, I can’t take the heavy mix all the way to the edge (2” minimum thickness). After the first 6 bags, I went and got 8 more and used 7. Now I’ll let that set and add some of the thin mix to take it out to the edge. It will be drivable on Saturday.
After my doctor check in yesterday, I stopped for breakfast at Biscuit Belly in PTC. A chain, but a very good chain, and breakfast was delicious. Across the parking lot I noticed a place called Beignet’s and Brews and was disappointed to learn they didn’t brew beer.

NOW I find out you have a cement mixer!?!? I know Allan has a lot of tools, but that’s a surprise. I guess it shouldn’t be!!

we got it at Harbor Freight back when we were building the deck – it was only like $200 or so – SOOOO worth money. It’s been to a few people’s houses for projects

66 miles of cycling in Cades Cove yesterday, six times around the 11 mile loop. Debbie flexed with her new road bike and logged 44 miles (a PR for her). My 17 year old rode his age plus 100. His fingers were blown by the end, he couldn’t use them with the shifters any more. He was fine after he rested for a while.
For Debbie and me we would have gotten to 77 and 55 miles respectively, but the 25+ year old tent my son was in soaked through during the afternoon, so we tossed it in the anti-bear bin and decamped back to Atlanta. Which was fortuitous because an ENORMOUS rain band traveled over Tennessee last night, so we would have been in even more trouble had we stayed the night.

I remember my hands not working right after a long ride – they are getting worse with age.
Last time I was at the chiropractor, we discussed my hands and numbness when I ride, and even when I drive. She did an adjustment on my neck and I think it has helped. I had already planned on talking to the GP about a hand surgeon, assuming it was carpal tunnel. I’ll stick with the chiro for the moment.
Back from my morning of volunteering with Trees Atlanta yesterday. I rode the Barcycle on the Beltline again today.
Apparently today is National IPA Day (why?). I’m whooped but trying to decide if I want to go out for a beer with my buddy Chip this afternoon.
Yum, pizza! I may need to do some sort of pizza for lunch today.
I just got done presenting to my boss, his boss, and our entire team. I can talk about this subject for hours but I still stress over presentations and feel like I’m talking a thousand miles an hour. Thankfully it is done and the bosses seem to be happy.
