Happy Birthday to ITP-Reader David aka The ITP-Reader formerly known as “Lurker”.
Last night I did a good couple of hours volunteering with Concrete Jungle. A large group of people came down from John’s Creek (bless them) to volunteer, and they also brought some delicious Indian food that they shared.
For a long time I couldn’t understand why my credit card bill is so high this month, and then I remembered that part of it is a $1200 charge for a new bicycle…
It’s bad enough that I am spending way too much money, but this month my healthcare provider’s billing system decided to triple bill me. They have acknowledged the error, but I have created a recurring reminder to check my credit card to ensure two of the charges have been reversed.
Wordle: three, my starter was STAKE (this should have been the solution the day after the solution was STEAK ten days ago)
So far my day is full of mishaps. I have overcooked my bacon, and the loaf of bread that I just put into the oven appears as if will be completely underproved, even though it’s been resting to proof for over an hour and hasn’t gotten any larger in that time.
Loaf is out of the oven and while it appears it will be edible, looks disappointing sad. I need to keep practicing.
Wordle in 6. Sad day..
Happy birthday David!
Decent BBQ for lunch. I wandered around back to the house and came upon an accident at a 4 way stop that had most of Pike Co. finest as well as the fire department out. Mowing and preparation for some hay being delivered today.
The crud is moving through the UAE team. Brandon McNulty bagged it yesterday, Tim Wellins was DFL by 5 minutes and is already OTB this morning. Adam Yates is feeling better, but doubtful he’s at 100% Hopefully Tadej is still healthy.
Barb, how is Allan feeling today? Sometimes it takes a day or 2 to really feel a crash.
-FP
Allan is sore – shoulder bothering him, but he will live.
He somehow got a burn on his leg too – so hyperbarics will help that healing too.
He’s going to go every day for a while, called in sick today, and will again on Monday. With the shoulder issue, he shouldn’t be working anyway.
Inside of the leg? Touched the exhaust pipes maybe? Hope he heals quickly.
Paulie – its raining up here.
Wordle in 4 –
trying to decide where to hike this weekend, since Allan can’t ride at the moment
We are doing fine ITP now. Apparently we are under a flash flood watch?
Back from my Kroger run. Though I didn’t *need* anything, it’s 4x Fuel Points day and I triggered an additional 10% back from Upside on my next grocery shopping, so I went. My July Fuel Points sit at 599. I guess I need to spend another dollar at Kroger before the month ends.
The threat of rain, and to be honest a good amount of laziness, kept me from riding this morning. I had the loaf of bread to bake too. I need to start doing some cleanup of WLF, maybe that will happen today?
Lunch today will be a bacon and tomato sandwich, made with the small tomato I brought home from Concrete Jungle yesterday.
No lettuce? I loooove a BLT.
I don’t want the explosive diarrhea! I have lettuce, spring mix, but that’s too fancy for a sandwich. I didn’t want to buy any more lettuce.
The bread is “fine” but no what I was hoping to bake.
Happy birthday, David!
I spent all afternoon poolside reading and taking occasional dips in the pool. Amazingly it is not debilitatingly hot here as it has been in past years. It’s pleasantly warm and one time when I got out of the pool I was chilly with the breeze!
Today will be exactly the same except we have a dinner to host tonight so only a couple poolside drinks and then I’ll have to make myself presentable.
Not sure I can imagine a special type of hell that would be a vacation with work peeps. Maybe its tolerable because they aren’t YOUR peeps.
And lawyers to boot! 😀
They aren’t MY co-workers, so that helps, plus they all like to have fun, which also helps. And mostly I’m able to avoid them anyway.
And bankers, Paulie. Can’t forget the bankers! Ugh.
Even better! 😀
Thank you all for the birthday greetings! I started my day with a walk with my son to Emerald City Bagels, then had a massage. Next up is hiking at Fort Mountain State Park with my daughter and Debbie, then dinner tonight at the vegan restaurant in my building.
No concerts today, but my friends and I are going to see two reggae bands at the Eastern Sunday night, one of which is a spin off of Bob Marley’s band.
Tadej put on a clinic on Alp D’ Huez. Sepp Kuss was off the front with a group of 3 and was doing really well. Tadej basically blew past them like they were in reverse. Remco tried to bridge up, but got slowed by the TV bike and the crowds. Amazing riding.
Inside from doing some WLF work, some weed pulling along the fence line, and sowing of a cover crop.
If the sound of thunder didn’t cause me to come inside, the pain and aggravation of getting bitten/stung on my side/back would have. Don’t know the culprit, but I have eight distinct welts and have popped an allergy pill just to try to ward off any swelling.
Rain has started. I’ve been noticing a lot of water dripping off the gutters. The whole point of the gutter is to stop that, so some investigation will be necessary…
