I’m back in Atlanta, which is good because I have a CHaRM appointment this morning as well as a Concrete Jungle volunteering shift this afternoon.
I probably should have spent one more night in Clemson so that I didn’t spend so much of my birthday driving home. I did have an interesting stop in Lavonia however, where I was surrounded by my elders at the bar and heard all of the town gossip. I was even gifted a beer, but in the end wound up paying it forward for a future healthcare worker’s next beer.
It appears that in my absence my neighbor’s have cleaned up the fallen tree. I was hoping to be out there when they did to spy on their work, and see if I could pay cash to have another problematic tree taken down cheaply. It was pissing down rain when I arrived home yesterday, so I need to get out there today and inspect, and hopefully see that they didn’t come over to my yard and kill my paw paw trees in the cleanup process.
Wordle: four, my starter was FAUNA
The paw paw trees have been spared. The entire back corner of the chain link fine has been destroyed. I *think* that it’s my fence, but I’m honestly not sure about that yet.
Wordle in 4.
After my ride yesterday, I was just trashed and spent the afternoon napping and reading. Maybe I needed it.
I think there will be some mowing and a little scooter riding today. The fan on the tractor makes the mowing a little more pleasant. Wonder why it took me so long to do that.

Back from UFO where I killed a lot of Mexican Bean Beetles. I have showered and am trying to get motivated to go to CHaRM at 11am.
I harvested some okra and cucumbers this morning. I need to do some more work in WLF today, but it’s going to be difficult.
It’s a beautiful day on Amelia Island! Our flight was delayed yesterday but we made it in time to have dinner with friends at the sports bar on the resort campus. The burger was pretty good! Today Kevin has a big luncheon hosted by his firm. But I have reserved a little lounge cabana thing by the pool and am going to head down there soon.
As of today I am no longer a subscriber to Audible. I have been informed via email that I will still have access to all of the titles for which I purchased a license, as well as any free content.
That is good to know, thank you!
Popped over to CHaRM early and am back. The impetus for my journey was to get rid of the styrofoam packing that was in the box I received from Amazon last week. Remember the old days when Amazon packages were sent with packing peanuts?
I’ve eaten an early lunch, and need to get down to the basement to sow some seeds for Fall crops.
busy morning – as usual
Well Allan had a little mishap with his moto yesterday – found out that AAA needs a special Motorcycle extra something – so that tow up to WOW had to be paid. I told him if it’s messed up enough to total it- I might decide he doesn’t need to replace it. He wasn’t sure about his shoulder, so a trip to the ER – nothing broken, but he might go see an ortho just to be sure it will heal correctly. He went over to Hyox this morning, some hyperbarics will help the healing – so he will “work for free” for a few hours to spend time in the chamber.
That is so scary! Kevin got rid of his moto a few years ago and I was happy about that. Hope Allan’s shoulder feels better soon!
Damn, sucks about Allan’s mishap. Hopefully injuries are minimal. Maybe he needs more of a dual sport bike 🙂 fewer cars on the gravel roads I ride.
At age sixteen I realized I wasn’t cut out for riding a motorcycle. That was decades before I started beating the crap out of myself on a bicycle…
Hope Allan’s injuries are minimal.
Well $hit. Hope the scooter survived, as well as Allan. Riding in the city is not for sissies.
Going to be an interesting trip to NC. They are calling for a lot of rain tomorrow, hopefully we will be able to set up between storms. This will be the first camping trip for Izzy, we will see how she does in a tent.
Truck is supposed to be done today, I have not packed or been to the grocery so I am totally unprepared to go camping tomorrow. Plus work is sort of busy so my stress level is pretty high right now.
I’m pretty good at embracing the chaos but there is a lot of chaos right now
Took the breath out of me for a minute Bob. I briefly thought “oh shit, is NC Mountain Ride this weekend?!?!”
Good luck herding your cats, and have fun!
Some seeds have been sowed. Hoping my plant husbandry skills are back so that this sowing will produce viable plants. Got to keep those critters fed!!!
Took the scooter over to Williamson for a little BBQ lunch. A bit warm out.
Paulie, I am available to buy you birthday dinner tomorrow evening, if you would like.
Not necessary, but thanks. *Somebody* (me) has been over consuming lately and is cutting back on calorie intake.
A quick callback to yesterday: I saw people wishing actor Patrick Labyorteaux a happy birthday on a YouTube video he released yesterday. He and I were born on the same day.
never heard of him, but that means nothing – right?
Bit actor, face you may recognize from movies and tv. Truth be told, I’d never heard of him either until recently. I just found it funny that he and I were born on the same exact day, after my discussion about such matters yesterday.
For best results, cue up “Dueling Banjos” while reading this:
I think I just found the most “Alabama” business name possible: Dugger Mountain Guns N Fudge. Apparently it’s near the Chief Ladiga Trail in Piedmont if anyone wants to check it out.
