With the exception of my excursion to Decatur to run errands in the morning I didn’t accomplish much more yesterday. I did make dinner at home, an American Goulash, which filled me greatly and will provide at least four more meals.
Well, I hemmed and hawed about signing up for a $40 Trees Atlanta rain barrel workshop to be held on July 23rd to the point that it sold out before I could register. I have three rain barrels, one of which continues to sit idle, so I kept thinking about this as I waffled about spending the money. Now I don’t have to worry…
Though I say it often, I am/was hoping to get in some riding this week but the weather forecast isn’t looking promising.
Wordle: four, my starter was WIRED
I’m up godawfully early to make an airport run. Not for me, unfortunately. Debbie and saw Paul Simon at Chastain last night, and he was just as incredible as I hoped. He played for about 2 1/2 hours, which at 84 is a feat in itself. He did the most encores I’ve ever seen any band do. 4 with his band, and then he came back on stage by himself and did 2 Simon & Garfunkle songs by himself.
And sadly I’ve been awake for two hours already.
Supposed to ride Silver Comer today with Sal, depending on weather. No matter what happens I will be dragging today.
Sounds like a good time was had.
My sister in law was stuck at the ATL airport for way too long last night – flight from San Diego was delayed enough to make it a tight connection – then I guess mechanical issues after they were all loaded up. – she got to the gate at about 9:30, said then there was an hour delay then. Then at 1:30am she messaged she was still on the tarmac. Her close landing time in Barcelona plan to coordinate with Kevin’s went all to hell.
I saw Paul Simon at either the Fox or Symphony Hall several years ago and it was a wonderful show. He’s a great performer!
He’s a living legend. The gall that people have to talk over him like he’s Muzak boggles my mind. Go to a fucking bar with a guy playing in the corner if you want background noise. A couple of Buckhead babes were blathering on for so long that they got a piece of my mind.
There’s a reason why that venue is called Chatty Chastain. People talk through every concert there. I won’t go there.
One of the three reasons I won’t go there. The other two are ticket prices and inconvenient location.
Dropped the pupper at doggie daycare for the first time this morning. I was worried because she is SO skittish, but although she was a little anxious she did fine. That is a relief.
I got a call from our puppy daycare this morning that Izzy was too hyper and was riling up the whole room of dogs so they had to isolate her for a bit to calm down. If you have met Izzy you would understand why 🙂 She is a little high strung, can’t wait for that phase to end.
Yeah, that is a difficult phase. I am a fan of the Honest brand of CBD chewies. I give one to my dog when she is anxious and she gets mellow.
Wordle in 6 and should have been 4 if I was paying attention to what I already had found! Duh.
Back from a moist 20 miles. No real rain fell but I was prepared.
Exchanged emails with the old boss regarding consulting and he’s still hopeful
I told him whichever way it goes, I’m fine.
Off to a meeting with SMP popo, then a Games meeting

Regarding your rain barrel class, this lyric from the Rush song Free Will came to mind: “If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice”.
Indeed I did!
Back from a partially rainy, 100% wet and dirty, 42 mile Silver Comet ride with ITP-Reader Sal. I’m sure I slowed her down. I need a good shower before heading up to Schoolhouse Brewing this afternoon.
what time are you coming up this way? not sure if I can it in today- but – if its more Happy Hour – I might be ablet o make it happen. I can always send Allan.
I told Chip that I was shooting for 2:30.
Out of nowhere the ITP Estate’s power has gone out. Harrumph! Georgia Power predicts it will be restored by 3:00pm. Double Harrumph!!
I HATE TRAINING PEOPLE
ok- she’s very nice & smart, but I don’t have time to slow down. to explain things
