I love Publix BOGOs, who doesn’t? However, when I see the prices of groceries today I sometimes wonder if Publix isn’t multiplying the prices of their BOGOs by two prior to putting them on sale.
If I were not going to be doing BRAG on June 3rd I might have bought a ticket for that night to see comedian Don Macmillan
perform at the Punchline.
To kill time before my dental appointment the other day I wandered into a Best Buy. Yes, I’m still contemplating a new television and wanted to see what is out there. My word TVs have gotten FUCKING HUGE!!! I guess you need a big TV to watch TV inside your 8000 sq ft house? I also may be in the market for a new Blu-Ray player. Hilariously Best Buy had more turntables (aka “record player”) on display than the two Blu-Ray players; they only had one DVD player for sale in store.
Wordle: three, my starter was USAGE
I coulda been first.
I coulda been a contender.

Wordle in 4 and my starter was a whiff!
The next phase of concrete cutting has begun. This is a French drain right in front of the shop that is a collection point for all the runoff from the hillside. I still haven’t decided how to handle the broken concrete that acts as a catch basin- likely just dig it all up and have it repoured. I have several other spots where a bit of wider driveway would be handy when turning a horse trailer. Might be worth a truck of concrete.
Off to get new shoes on the Mazda. Will take my tire changing tools in case the tire doesn’t make it all the way.
Breakaway has over 8 minutes on the field with 100km to go. Off day for the field.

HAHAHAH! I would give you what DVDs I have since I have no way to play them, but they are not Blu-Ray. Also they are bad movies.
It was dry when we got to Osteria last night, then it POURED while we were there, then it stopped before we left. Lucky!
THREE DAY WEEKEND! I cannot tell you how much I need this. We have no plans at all. I actually get out at 2:00 today so Kevin and I are going to secretly day drink at Moe’s & Joe’s while the nanny watches Finn.
Rain passed by Wee Little Farm again! 🙁
When you quit working every weekend is a long weekend. 🙂
Yes it is!
Steve, you work harder as a retiree than I do at my job.
I tend not to sit still. I have lots of projects that need doing.
One of my compost benefactors, Double Suck, just arrived and dropped off food scraps Woot!
Have to make a Kroger run later. I thought I’d wait and work Wee Little Farm while it was cool, okay bearable, outside.
We went to dinner at The Orient with JoAnna & Mike- a place just down Powers Ferry that we never seem to go to. (building was a Houston’s back in the day)
Mike had some serious labor bike work done (note to all y’all – bringing a very dirty bike that needs lots of time & the parts washer will cost you a dinner – HA)
Sushi was good – had one roll that was wrapped in cucumber (instead of rice) – that was different – I guess they are appeasing the no carb people?
With the exception of sumo wrestlers you see very few overweight Japanese people, which should be an indication that it’s not the food we eat, but rather the amount of food we eat.
Ooooooh. I would love to try sushi wrapped in cucumber! Yum!
Unfortunately raw cucumber is another item on the list of “things I choose not to eat, alongside cilantro and asparagus. It’s because I have whatever genetics makes me taste the cucumber flavor for the entire day, which sounds nice until it happens to you. This is why plant breeders have created a variety of cucumber known as “burpless”.
You have mentioned this issue with cucumbers before. I have other foods that I react to that way but cucumbers are not one of them. The roll I usually get at the sushi place has crab and cucumber in it and it’s soooo good.
After all these years I’ve probably highlighted my deficiencies at least three times over. Hahaha
it was different – but not bad.
More transplanting of tomato plants, pepper plants continue to disappoint me, and cleaning up of WLF. Even with the scant rain it has received the grass and weeds manage to grow like, well, weeds.
You probably have no idea when I mention the band Angine de Poitrine, but that’s okay. They are the anomaly of 2026 and are touring the US this year. I would have purchased a ticket today for their show at The Eastern, if not for the fact that it will be on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and I will be in Raleigh (allegedly).
Angine de Poitrine
Big fan.
Especially guitarist Khn, but drummer Klek is cool too.
Live on KEXP (thank me later):

I genuinely find their music intriguing, though after a while it begins to get a bit monotonous. I have watched that video more than once, as well as some of their other performances.
the outfits were worth the click
They are actually talented musicians, who manage to play in what would be annoying-to-me costumes.
Dropped the ride at the tire place and walked to WH for breakfast. Will also stop at Tractor Supply.
Mmmmmm Waffle House…
Just did a self checkout at the Ansley Kroger and next to me was Charles Barkley.
COOL!
Chuck shops at Kroger? Who knew??
Prolly for the fuel points!
he seems to be ion the ATL a lot
