Last night’s ride was good, but it was also our last hurrah parking in the Melton’s parking lot. Upon our return we all had papers on our windshields “kindly” informing us that parking is for customers and towing will be enforced in the future.

A couple of weeks ago an animal, I’m assuming Betsy’s dog, left a “present” in the far reaches of Wee Little Farm. Upon discovering it I dug a shallow hole and buried it. Yesterday I discovered that some other animal had discovered it, and excavated the area, digging a hole, exposing a tree root, and probably consuming whatever was left of the excrement.

I’m still waiting for the Fed to drop the money they owe me from my income taxes into my bank account. The State has already dipped its greedy hands into the same account to pull out what I owed them.

  1. And thankfully, my tax refund was just deposited…

Well, Melton’s is a pretty small lot afterall. My silent book club meets there once a month – last night, in fact. 🙂 Neighborhood parking just behind it is free.

    • We park around the corner by the music store, who I assume is the instigator. We will probably wind up parking on the street, or in the spaces which were created when the firewood guy space was Your Dekalb Farmers Market. The beauty of sitting in that parking lot afterwards was that all of the businesses were closed upon our return, we were close to our cars, and not close to any houses.

Pre-COVID, prior to my joining the group, the went into Meltons. Obviously COVID interrupted that, and afterwards with an empty parking lot in which to sit, our own beer and peanuts were far less expensive.

I do not blame the businesses, who out up signs about customer-only parking a few years ago, but find it unfortunate for us.

    • And if I didn’t think we’d get in trouble with the law, or whomever, I’d suggest we move our operations to Medlock Park. However I don’t think that’s a solution either.

      Silent book club FTW!

La Tavola is doing their spring “mezzogiorno” menu, which is supposed to be like the flavors of the Amalfi Coast. So we went last night and the dish that I was most excited about was sold out. It turned out to be okay because the dish I chose instead was AMAZING. Garlic chicken with capers and artichokes.

I was almost late to work this morning because the little pupper didn’t want to let me go. She is so cute.

I’m so glad to hear that your new critter is settling in nicely. 🙂

We are still having a lot of trouble with house training, but things are progressing nicely.

In my experience, house training might always be an issue with a chihuahua mix. The girl with the tiny innards and even tinier brain can’t help it! 😉

Wordle in 5. Had I used my normal starter, I might have done better.

A bit more mowing today. Debbie is already out on her horse. I managed 20 yesterday on the CX bike. Wondering if my gravel bike might be ready one day (Barb?)

Tonight, dinner at O’Sullivans Pub in Decatur before attending the final tour of Alastair Fraser and Natalie Haas. Scottish fiddle and cello. Always a great show.

We rode 20 down by the river last night, then pizza at Johnny’s right near where we start. Mindy bought herself an E bike, so she rode with us.
Little high school girl dropped the pizza as she delivered it to the table, Allan lost half of his beer too. We got a new pizza, Allan got a new beer, & we got 25% off the tab. We tipped her a good amount; we’ve all waited tables & have had that sort of thing happen. She was so mortified, she apologized 100 times I think.

  6. Store-bought pepper and eggplant plants are now in the ground. Should probably get tomato plants out as well.

  7. It appears as if a new Tuesday Night Cycling gathering point has been found – Avondale Park in Avondale Estates. Fingers crossed.
