Bacon, Beer Bread, Sourdough Starter Discard Waffles… yesterday morning was a making morning. I also learned that using cold bacon fat in lieu of cold butter was not the greatest idea for my beer bread; the outcome was fine but far messier.
I planted some cucumber seeds to replace the plants which were taken from me by some critter. I may have to wait until there plants are bigger before transplanting in an effort to help the, survive.
Tonight I ride again! At least I hope so…
Wordle: four, my starter was REIGN
1st!
Let us know if Michael brings the freezer full of ice cream tonight……….
if he does – you just never know, we might come to a Tuesday night ride. HAHAHA
We might go ride tonight -but a cousin of Allan’s in roadtripping from OH to FL, they asked if they could spend the night. So, once we hear their ETA, we will decide.
I have a periodontist appt today – I know he will want me to spend more money than just a cleaning – but I will be strong – I don’t know if I really need another gum graft, just yet. (insurance doesn’t cover crap when it comes to periodontists)
Unless he needs a recovery ride, he will probably ride with his faster group as he has started doing this year.
Good luck with everything.
boy am I an idiot – my periodontist appt is Thursday. Glad I looked at my calendar
We have a “Derm appointment” on our family calendar and didn’t know who it was for 🙂 We both called our doctors to verify.
I guess I need to add more information when I create calendar appointments LOL
For those not at Spring Tune Up: Michael brought this cooler that is battery powered, which managed to keep his nearly unending supplies of ice cream produce frozen all weekend. I swear the man lives on ice cream.
I love me some ice cream, but damn! That is hard core.
Wordle in 3 starting with ASHEN.
Impressive, given your starter.
Yes, but did he share?!
yes- he shared – that is why we felt like at some point it would be empty – but it never was!!! I swear it was multiplying ice cream bars. It was crazy.
Ice Cream Man and his magical freezer box. I swear he snuck out at night to re-supply.
Lol
Wordle in 3 and my starter was a whiff!
For shitz and giggles yesterday, I told my Garmin I was walking as I mowed the front pasture- 4.8 miles later, the pasture is mowed. That’s the middle size of our 3. I think there’s actually a setting where it will calculate area and I might try that next time.
Off shortly to the soft opening of “Biscuit Belly” in PTC. A boutique chain if you will of breakfast and lunch that is off the chain good. We’ve eaten at one in Lexington and it was so worth the calories. Also dropping the Ram off in Fayetteville for its new hitch.

A quiet night watching baseball. My boss is out yesterday and today so I am enjoying some down time in the office.
OH, I forgot to report that yesterday I hit my 1500 day streak on Duolingo!
*applause*
I only wish Duolingo translated to fluency…
Not even close. I could order food at a restaurant and get directions, but no way could I hold a conversation. But it’s better than nothing!
what language are you learning?
(it should say that on the 1500 streak thing you posted)
It SHOULD say that! and it also should have “Duolingo” in prominent letters! So lame.
I am learning French. I was actually a French literature minor in college, but then I never used it for 25 years and lost most of it. Some of it comes back in a flash, and some of it I’m like, “hunh?”
My biggest beef with Duolingo, in regards to German, is that it usually ignores the gender of German nouns. A lot of German sentence structure depends on the gender of the nouns used.
Really? That is weird. It’s quite the stickler for the gender of French nouns. If you don’t get it right they ding you.
I only used language tapes to learn German (still have the tapes, but nothing to play them on). It seems like AI should be able to teach you a language, or be able to react and correct your pronunciation.
Paulie, get on that, would you? TYVM.
Duolingo has AI built in now, and caught a lot of heat for laying off a bunch of people in an “AI First” initiative.
went out for some lunch- there’s some sort of manhunt going on near Windy Hill & I-75 & that area – every cop in Cobb county & sheriff & who knows who else is over there.
If you want to commit a crime in Cobb – now is the time – they are all busy.
Pity it’s so far away for me, if only I had chosen to visit Schoolhouse today…
I love how everyone associated with the Beltline is patting themselves on the back regarding the recent ribbon cutting. If I understand correctly, they completely finished a 1.2 mile section in three (four?) goddamn years.
Yes, and it already feels too fucking narrow. Plus they haven’t finished the fancy flyover ramps down to street level that look straight out of the Jetsons.
