Happy birthday to my brother Ronnie, aka Bill.
I made yesterday’s cheap “It’s Groundhog Day!” repeat joke not knowing the news from the New York Times that was released last week, namely that they were going to allow repeated Wordle solutions. In case you are not a Wordle Nerd (Nerdle?) like me, permit me to tell you that yesterday’s solution — CIGAR — was a repeat of the very first Wordle solution from June 19th, 2021. I understand the logic (a word which is back in play) behind the move, but I feel as if I’ve lost a bit of my competitive advantage by keeping a list of never-before-Wordle-solution words. I’ve been starting each day with one of these words to increase my odds of scoring an ace (yes, I know it’s been a long time since the last lucky strike (two more words back in play) occurred on August 15th, 2014 2024).
Wordle: three, my starter was SHOCK
Lettuce transplants didn’t make it into the ground yesterday, because where I intended to plant was still frozen!
I spent most of my WLF picking up, and subsequently burning, sweet gum balls.
You must be a magician if you got an ace in 2014, a full seven years before Wordle debuted. 🙂
It is supposed to get up to 60 today. Seems the cold snap is over.
Magician I am, also, lousy typist and worse proofreader. 😀
Looks as if we will dip below freezing again for a few nights. Fear not, I have a sense that in early-to-mid March another blast of cold air will return.
And while I will cherish some warmer weather, I don’t want it to get so warm that the lettuce I put into the ground goes immediately to seed!
lucky 2nd word – for Wordle in 3.
So – was today’s word the 2nd one ever used back in 2021?
Allan & Sally & I did a neighborhood walk & catch up yesterday evening – got a good 4.5+ miles in. Had to google lens an old car in a carport (we couldn’t figure out what it was – an early 60s Studebaker!)
that’s my exciting life 😉
Nope, today was a virgin solution; at least according to my records.
Wordle in 3. I never used your method of unused starters, so this change means nothing to me.
More fence post topping today. I had my heaviest jacket on to begin and quickly realized I was overdressed. Hopefully with some moderate temps this won’t happen. Glenn Burns says there is another arctic blast coming at the end of the month, so be prepared.
Maybe if I get moving, I can get a ride in later today.

Learning that NYT is recyling words is the quality content that keeps me in this space. It took me 5 today because as of late I’ve been in an overthinking space as where each word that I type into Wordle must be more arcane than any I’ve ever used before–it’s an idea that I got from guy on the Internet who maintains a repository of pristine Wordle candidates. 😉
I’m so glad I can cut myself some slack now. Phew!

I put no real thought into what words I’ve used before on wordle -its just what word pops into my mind that the letters work.
I have my usual starter words, but if a word pops into my head, I’m just as likely to use that. I think we need to try a week of using the previous days word as a starter and see how badly it goes.
And just like that, Paulie’s blog set you free…
As if it were still Groundhog Day, I just returned from spending at least thirty minutes in WLF picking up sweet gum balls.
It’s such a nice day I feel as if I should be out doing something other than tidying up Wee Little Farm.
Ground in WLF is still frozen, so I can’t transplant lettuce today either. Think I’m going to put on a pair of shorts and go for a long walk…
got a little 2 mile walk in – my sweatshirt was almost too warm
I did 4.5 miles, in shorts and a long-sleeved t-shirt. Other than getting angry that the south side Beltline is still closed and looks no closer to being completed than it did two years ago, it was perfect.
