Happy 23rd anniversary to this blog!

Trying to figure a lot of shit out, some of which would improve my life(style) greatly. Vague much? Expect me to be disconnected for today and tomorrow as I will be busy doing shit and not checking in often.

Hoping the weather forecast for this weekend is as wrong as it was for last, since I really want to go to Oakhurst Porchfest via bicycle on Saturday.

Wordle: six, my starter was HAPPY (an absolute shitty starter but appropriate for today’s date)

  1. Even though my commutes yesterday were harder than I expected, arduous, and at points dangerous, I am glad I did them. Ask me again next week when I do them again and pay about 5x more than I did yesterday for car repairs.

  2. After reviewing my Wordle board today, I made a boneheaded mistake and probably deserved to fail.

Wordle in 5 and don’t know the word.

I think I’m packed. A few last minute things, pack up the trailer and roll. In replacing the trim rubber between the roof and sides yesterday, the close inspection showed the trailer in really good shape, except for needing a bath. That will happen when I get back.

Happy blogaversary! I’m glad you’ve stuck with it and I hope we still bring you joy. We certainly try our best!

I don’t comment, usually, but felt the need to do so today. Like me, I know you’ll be celebrating the 70th anniversary of one of baseball’s greatest events today. Don Larsen’s perfect game in the 1956 World Series. The only perfect game ever thrown in the World Series. The month and year I was born. What a great year for baseball and the world. hahaha

Hey Sal! Indeed, a momentous day.

    • Barb says:

that is a weird random bit of knowledge there

    • Jenka says:

I’ve only watched one perfect game, that was David Wells for the Yankees in ’98. Don Larsen happened to be in the stands at that game, and they kept turning the camera on him. It was pretty cool, even if it was the Yankmes.

What is so happy about 10/8? I must be missing something.

Our regular nanny is on vacation and our backup babysitter picks Finn up from school and takes him off to the movies or the arcade and doesn’t bring him home until after 8:00 pm. So we just went to Barbacoa for tacos because we knew they had the game on. Braves got knocked out last night, so the tyranny of baseball is finally over for a few months. I love it when it begins, and I love it when it ends. 🙂

nothing interesting going on at all

I heard Chalktoberfest at the Marietta Square is cancelled due to the rainy forecast – I guess you can’t do chalk drawings on the streets in the rain – who’d have thunk it.

no Brewery Road at Porchfest this year………

  8. Quick check in. Returned home from Trees Atlanta, driving there today to deliver something I found on the road that they can use. Driving turned out to be beneficial as I purchased two plants from their tree sale inventory and I could bring them home.

  9. I just “planted” mushrooms in a bed of wood chips. I have not had much luck with mushrooms, so I hope they produce.

The Eagle has landed. All utilities connected and the rig is even level. A first in a long while. Starlink ain’t gonna happen as I have no North clear sky. Fortunately the phone seems to be doing OK.

Paulie, 18 years ago today I changed my FB status to “On days like today, I’m glad that gyms exist.” And you were the first comment with, “On days like today, I’m glad that bars exist.” Some things never change!
