Yesterday I pulled out a bag of coffee from my cupboard and saw something I hadn’t seen recently, a bag containing twelve ounces of coffee instead of eleven! Bought in Hendersonville, NC last Fall, this bag probably only cost me $8 as well. You remember those days, right? The days before Captain Tariff started shooting off his mouth again and enacting asinine trade laws with all the other countries around the world with swipes of his pen?
Today I will be at Schoolhouse Brewing at noon for BOGO beer and to claim my free four-pack, and I will not be denied!
Wordle: four, my starter was FELON
Smoothie stop with bee pollen, now at a roadside stand that sells bike jerseys. Peer pressure- I of course I bought a jersey. Allan decided against it.
At Sweetwater Brewing on Friday I saw a XL jersey made by Primal on clearance for only $20. Surprisingly I talked myself out of buying it, because I already own too many, and expect to get another jersey next June.
Super spread out after a long windy, awesomely fun downhill for some of us others here don’t like to descend. So I’m sitting at a corner waiting for people and playing Wordle. So Wordle in five.
Wordle in 3.
A pretty quiet day yesterday recovering from jet lag. I still sound like death on toast and coughed through the night.
Haircut today and I’ll see how I’m feeling later and maybe get on my bike.

I think Stan is sneaking in to your house and moving furniture, that is why you keep stubbing your toes 🙂
What a great weekend of moto camping! Lunch with Brint in Hiawassee, tail of the dragon, Cherohala Skyway, Foothills Parkway, Smokey Mountain national park, and the Moonshiner route highway 28 down to Walhalla. Some of the best twisty roads in the south! The lodge I camped at was nice, they served breakfast and dinner and had live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Good times!
I will definitely do that again! However, I will do it in 3 days instead of 2. I got home just before dark on Sunday and I was dead.
What was the lodge, Bob? Sounds like a great ride.
It’s called Iron Horse Lodge, they have options from tent to bunkhouse to 2 person cabin to full house. Really nice facility, I will definitely go back.
Wouldn’t be surprised, Stan is sneaky like that! 🙂
A good swim after the ride today – now to get back to the boat, clean up & winery tour at 5pm
Lunch was a very local type of meal, they cooked octopus, lamb & veal & veggies – cooked in these charcoal ceramic dome cookers- it was pretty cool. I’ll get some pics on the socials later.
I did not see gelato on that list, Barb!
Exactly! Sounds fun.
Not yet Stacy, it’s only 1743.
We are at a winery- unbelievable spread of food & wine.
Dinner on the ship, no one’s going to be hungry enough to eat…..
I’ll post more later
I’m about to enter a Nam Dae Mun, which I see has just rebranded to NMD Market. Hat that! It is so fucking generic!
Super busy at work today, not much time to read the blog. Very quiet weekend. Saturday we got up early (for us) and sent Finn off to Dragon Con with the nanny. Since we were up we decided to go to the Majestic for breakfast, which was great. Then we napped and watched college football all day. Sunday we took Meatloaf to Moe’s & Joe’s and had a leisurely afternoon on their patio. It was fun except it was pretty hot, especially with the dog because she sits on my lap and she is a space heater. Yesterday we slept in and then watched baseball, then went out for sushi as usual.
I didn’t check email all weekend and I really should have, I am running around today trying to get everything done.
Wait, you named the dog Meatloaf? I love it
Yep. She’s about the size, shape, and color of a meatloaf, and looking at her you just wanna slather her in ketchup and serve her over mashed potatoes.
In a prior period of my life, Meatloaf would have hands-down won the “Best Pet Name of the Day” contest. It used to be a source of endless entertainment.
Back from a Costco run, and a stop at a doc-in-the-box at Trillith. She prescribed a cough med and an inhaler for my 3 pack a day hacking cough. Fun.
And Debbie called me while I was out- the truck didn’t start. Now, since we got it back from being repaired, it has sat for the better part of a month, so not a big surprise. I’ll attach the charger and see what we get.
Winery outing at 5pm, most awesome winemaker, we are drink trying to eat dinner on the ship. It is hard as hell
