It’s amazing how only one metro-Atlanta Home Depot seems to sell Pro Mix soil, and not even the potting mix I was hoping to purchase. That Home Depot is on Lawrenceville Highway, which made my trek from it to Marietta that much more frustrating. But I managed.
I also managed to get haircut, shop at two Goodwills, shop at Nam Dae Mun (no, I will not call it “NDM Market”), meet ITP-Reader Sal at Schoolhouse, and make it back inside the perimeter before 3pm, where I promptly sacked out.
Apple is having their annual iPhone announcement event today at 1:00pm ET. Since I’m not in the market for anything I may not dedicate the time to watch it in real time…

The pharmacy finally filled the scripts, so I went out and picked them up late yesterday. I think I slept better, but they will take a bit longer to kick this crud out.
My battery charger is confused by the 2 bat diesel system, so I may have to take each bat out and charge it separately.
As Margo has found a way out of the back yard, Debbie has requested we relight the hot wire… and raise it so it’s out of the grass and stays hot. Fun. Not.

We rode about 20 miles around Brac, went to an Olive oil museum, saw how it was made years ago. Had a tasting, it was good.
Now we are on the boat heading to Split.
Oh yeah, today’s PSA: pay attention at the register. My bag of soil was, according to the shelf tag, supposed to cost $32.97 (in theory one bag of this soil is compressed and contains the same quantity as four, 1 cubic foot bags). The cashier told me my total was almost $40, which didn’t make sense since I doubted I’d be paying $7 in sales tax. I was right! The register rung the price up as $36.97, so I went and took a picture of the shelf tag to get $4 taken off my total.
That happens all the time, kind of why I like going to Kroger & just get a few things, so I can see if the prices match.

We tried Tio Lucho’s for the first time last night (well, I’d been there for a work dinner about a year and a half ago). It was pretty good. We had ceviche, beef empanadas, and a rice dish with shrimp, octopus, clams, etc. It was basically an easy paella. The empanadas were disappointing and I wouldn’t get those again, but the others were really good. Then I went home and watched my team lose to the worst team in baseball.
They lost to the Mets?
As a Mets “fan” I stopped paying attention in May.
I’m in a similar boat as Ham but my father is in assisted living and keeps trying to break out and go back home. We have a call with the facility to come to terms with our next steps. He is of sound mind but feeble body, I know if he goes home he will not get the care he needs and will be his demise. I hate this part of adulting.
This part of adulting really does suck. I hope dad can understand where he is is for his best.
Well, I will be heard back to Schoolhouse today… to fetch my credit card. Dangen!
Even more frustrating is the fact that this is the credit card I use for Upside. Therefore, my Kroger purchase today does not get logged with Upside, so no money back nor credit toward the September grocery challenge.
And the feed & seed store is great, but like everything these days, is expensive. I just bought the second-most expensive bag of soil I have ever purchased.
