Yesterday I rode a tough, dirty, 50-mile ride with Stan and Stan’s nephew on the Silver Comet. After the ride we at an expensive Mexican lunch and then had a few beers at Schoolhouse.
On my way home I stopped at my local Kroger to fill up my car with gas. I was certain my 60¢/gallon discount was not applied when I saw the price I was going to pay was $3.49/gallon. To my surprise I saw the sign telling me that gas was $4.09/gallon! $45 later, my tank was filled. I don’t know how much longer we can afford all this winning…
Wordle: three, my starter was AFOUL
I might have claimed the last four-pack of Killer Low Life yesterday, it was the only one in the case at least. While not my favorite beer there hasn’t been much in cans that has thrilled me lately so I decided to take that.
Unfortunately my right AirPod isn’t charging and I am being forced to to listen to the inane shit on Good Morning America at the Waschsalon.
I used to always have a pair of wired earbuds in my bag, but unfortunately have become lax in my backup preparations.
I “watch” GMA most mornings – good to see what they think are the important stories, plus all the extra stuff- The Eclipse is later today in Europe! (JoAnna & Mike are on a cruise, in the middle of the Mediterranean ocean to watch it later)
Of course they are… 😀
should have gotten gas at the Kroger on Powers Ferry, it was still $3.79 yesterday
(we need to get gas for my car, & I think the Subaru needs it too)
Good to know that Casa Grande is expensive, we haven’t been there yet, its part of the Marietta Diner restaurant group, so I figured it wouldn’t be cheap.
work was too busy for me yesterday, and Allan was too busy puttering with whatever projects to come have a beer – or maybe he napped, I wasn’t able to pay attention to him
I didn’t think there would be such a price difference, or I would have.
It’s definitely “upscale” Mexican. That being said it was abundant and delicious, but I was a little more than surprised that sweet tea was $4.
Wordle in 4 and shoulda been 3!
Survived traffic and now having breakfast in Winder!
At 0300. I wasnt sure I would be riding this morning as another big storm came through. 3.5 inches total from yesterday afternoon.
Not sure how I’ll wind my way to Blowing Rock, bit Mt Mitchell is on the way.

Steve – are you in the truck with the trailer? Or – on the moto?
good job with Wordle in 3 Paulie – it took me 4.
Thanks, I have you to thank as it was the cycling kit I wore yesterday.
It thunderstormed from about 3:00 until maybe 7:30 yesterday, big booms. I had to work late preparing for a big meeting this morning. Then we went to Ruby Chow’s for dinner. I went to bed early again because I was exhausted. This new dean is wearing me out!
Ground was wet this morning, but I don’t yet know how much rain fell on WLF. Surprised I didn’t hear more of it, given the number of times I peed last night.
The system will grind the new dean into submission soon enough. 😉
Kudos on getting from AFOUL to today’s word in 3 Paulie. Took me five. I had the 1st, 2nd and 5th letters in 3, which is generally leaves way too many potential options available.
My second guess set me up really well.
Back from a wok to WLF where I sowed four Swiss Chard seeds, and harvested one pepper. I thought about walking more but I was already dripping with sweat.
long European Grove’s story – but – the car has something that needed to be repaired, so the kids flew back home to Girona – Katrina & her mom are finally leaving Nuremburg – and we get this – German autobahn. Speed. 80 km (& sad emoji face)
Good on you getting back out on the bike. I need to do that as well but the motorcycle is so much more fun 🙂
I went for my annual physical this morning and in chatting with the nurse she asked if I was up to any fun stuff. I said I was going to go listen to Motley Crew tonight. She looked at me and said “I don’t know who that is” I was floored.
I guess we are at that age now, we listen to classic rock from the 70’s like our parents listened to “Oldies”. Ugh
Yeah, I’m sure it is. I need to do a lot more of it in order to start getting fitter. I found I had a little PTSD yesterday when my Wahoo warned me of an impending CLIMB!. Remember, I was rising Silver Comet. 😀
I’m used to making references that are no longer understood by all.
The people around me skew younger than most because there are a lot of students. They started not getting any of my references like 10 years ago.
In from cleaning off the Silver Comet from my new bike. It is hot, not as hot as it will get this week, I feel as if I’m as fat as Jabba the Hut, and tired.
