Yesterday I re-sowed two trays of fall seeds — lettuce, kale, cabbage. If this round of seed sowing fails I think that I will take the Fall off from growing.

Last night I continued to hone my pizza making skills. I’m getting closer to making a really good pizza.

I’m tired of the oppressive heat, as well as the higher water and electricity bills that come with it. I’m ready for Fall.

Wordle: FAIL, my starter was TRADE.

Today’s solution was a word in my starter list, and I used it as a starter as recently as two weeks ago. After playing I looked up the five words I used after TRADE, and they all had been previous solutions. Dangen!

    Wordle in 3!

Good morning from Blowing Rock, NC. A nice ride on the scooter up. I tried to make it to Mt. Mitchell, but the BRP on the far side (the direction I needed to go) was still closed. Instead, I went to Linville Falls and hiked down to the top of the falls. Spoke with a volunteer ranger about how bad it had been during the storm and after the first 10” of rain fell, the sheriff was banging on doors at 0230. He and his wife barely got out. I don’t think his house was destroyed, but it was weeks before he could get back. I found the pub in BR while I waited on Debbie to catch up. A good stout and Scotch egg and I snuck up on her when she arrived.

Tanner got a lesson in carriage driving last night. They were working a team when Debbie went to feed him dinner and the driver said to hop on and lead him around. Debbie sat on the back and Tanner followed like he was bred for it! Sorry I didn’t see it.

I saw the Wednesday night ride go by and will check the map for bicycle possibilities that do not involve serious climbs.

WORDLE IN 3 – what a lucky guess.

    another boring day yesterday

  3. Good on you all for not crashing and burning with Wordle today!

I’m back from my morning shift at Trees Atlanta, I continue to enjoy riding my barcycle there using the Beltline. I also stopped at Betsy’s to water her plants, and then at UFO to water my seeds.

Showered and relaxing a bit before eating lunch and doing some chores.

Went to listen to Motley Crue from the hill last night. Got there in time to hear Tesla finish their set. Tesla lead singer’s voice is done, sounded like Daffy Duck at times. Motley Crue was great, the music was on point and Vince Neal was both really good and really bad at times. Brought me down many memory lanes throughout the set. Fun times and got in a onewheel ride too 🙂

Been back for an hour or so from a quick scooter ride to Lynn Cove Viaduct. Debbie is still out on a trail ride and is definitely wet by now- I was only a little bit. LCV was the last piece of BRP to be finished back in the 80’s but unfortunately the South end still has repairs/construction going on. It wouldn’t have been washed out as it’s high ground, but maybe landslides. Hope the rain moves on. Would like to see the meteor shower tonight- it peaked last night but maybe there will be some left.

I am in the middle of a two day faculty retreat which is sometimes interesting and at other times excruciatingly boring.

The exciting news is that since our last dog died we stopped tending to the back yard and it was a complete mess. There were weeds taller than me! This morning a crew showed up and got rid of everything and put down mulch. It looks better already!

Kroger gas story – saw on 120 in East Cobb it was $4.09 – yesterday I noticed it was $3.79 at the Kroger down Powers Ferry from me. So- Allan & I HOPED it was still $3.79 today – both cars needed gas – and it was! So – I said to Allan – WINNING! (and – we got .80 off – so we paid $2.99/gal)

yes- my day is boring that this is a big deal

The QuikTrip on Windy Hill at 41 had gas for $3.45 last night. We saw Drivin’ N Cryin’ at the Mabel House last night, and in Mabelton gas was $4.15. Talk about your mileage will vary!

how’d you like the Mable House?
I was just thinking – what band(s) is David going to see this week?
