After last year’s epic sixty mile ride in Asheville, I know you are all waiting with bated breath to find out what I will be doing for birthday #61 in a few weeks. Initially I thought I might go to Montgomery for a Biscuits game. However, a funny thing happened while planning my birthday activities… I completely changed them and will be spending most of the day indoors, in Clemson South Carolina. Because the deadline for registration for the two-day Organic Certification Essentials (are you seeing a theme emerging?) was yesterday I had to shit or get off the pot; I secured a free ticket in the final hour they were offered. The workshop ends at 3:45pm on my birthday, so I will have plenty of time to drink beer somewhere. 😀
Wordle: six, my starter was BOUND
Feeling like the bug slayer my big accomplishment thus far has been to kill about forty squash/bean bugs, at WLF and WLF@UFO, who are destroying the plant leaves.
In WLF I killed squash beetles, in WLF@UFO I killed Mexican bean beetles. So many pests!
Since my AirPods are currently out of commission I had to go old school today and use wired headphones. Fortunately Past Paulie bought an audio jack to USB-C converter since Apple has long done away with audio jacks on their devices.
Wordle in 3.
When Debbie returned from getting “Denny” (new working title- Walter), she mentioned the fuel door on the GMC was no longer staying shut. Poor design, made from cheap plastic. The new metal part came in yesterday and after getting it disassembled, figured out how to connect the spring again. The unit itself just clipped right back into the side panel.
“New” windshield is installed and ready for a test ride which should happen later.
And we may have another puppy sold!

I love the name Walter for a horse.
I just told Debbie that Walter is Lurker approved! She laughed.
Back when I was married to a veterinarian, one of the games we’d play is “Best pet name of the day”. Walter would definitely win for a horse.
I have 2 recommendations for you. Kite Hill brewing is right off the Clemson campus and Keowee brewing is about 10 minutes away.
Both have good beer and food.
Got some good news yesterday, roof inspector said roof looks good. I may get out of this mess for just a couple hundred bucks.
Thanks, I will check them out!
Good news, hope it continues.
Woot! Just saw a pic of a Roswell home with a tree in the second floor! Did not look good.
I do not miss home ownership one single bit. That’s some clean living there, Bob!
I rode 11 miles west of my place on the Beltline and still didn’t get to the end. I had to turn around to make a haircut appointment but also I was really starting to fade on the way back. I remembered I’ve gotta pack some sort of food in this heat. I tried to make use of the robo grocery store at Pittsburgh Yards, but they clearly got what they paid for with regard to their app. It didn’t want my credit card details so I moved on.
Once it’s not so goddamned hot we should have a Beltline ride. After being bread-crumbed for years with random, unconnected sections, today felt like an intown fever dream.
Yes, please.
Emory MRI brain study done.
Did the bloodwork stuff last month.
In 2 years, will do it all again
Oh fun! Hey, I have another online study to do.. Alzheimer Prevention Trial. I’ll send you the link. They give me a 15 minute battery of tests for 5 days straight every 6 months. I just got finished- kinda fun.

This leans into tomorrow’s blog post, but I think I may be a World Cup jinx. I saw on my sports app that Egypt was winning over Argentina 2-0 70 minutes into the game, so I tuned in to watch Argentina lose. Argentina scored immediately, and then went on to score two more goals to win 3-2. Dangen!
Honestly, that Argentina-Egypt game was sooooooo good. Argentina scores two goals in the last 20 minutes and then a third in stoppage. That last goal was a bloop from the head of the Argentine player and the Egypt keeper was so shocked he just watched it sail by him. Exciting!
I’m so tired of all things Messi that I was ready for Argentina to be shown the door.
