I’ve been casually watching World Cup games with the sound off. I am glad that I am ambivalent to almost all sports these days and that my mood changes little based on the outcome of a sporting event.

I think in reaction to my poor pepper plant performance (try saying that fast) this year I’ve turned my attention to beans. I have been planting a lot of beans, and I have many more to plant, in hopes of eating some fresh as well as drying some for future consumption.

Yesterday’s Faux Homestead (Fauxstead?) accomplishment was to make a couple jars of bread & butter pickles from WLF cucumbers, as well as one purchased from a grocery store; which should be ready to eat in a week or so.

After a couple of false starts, dinner was a bastardized version of chicken stroganoff. On hand I had egg noodles, pre-cooked chicken meatballs, a jar of beef gravy, some mild German cheese, and sour cream. The meal was surprisingly satisfying.

I welcome the rain which fell yesterday and overnight. Thankfully no apparent damage was done to Wee Little Farm nor the ITP Estate. This rain, as well as any that falls over the next week will help me store about as much water as I’ve gathered from the HVAC condenser. I’m sure you Cobb county residents are tired of rain by now…

My buddy Hank is coming into town tomorrow, so naturally I will doing some beer consumption over the next handful of days.

Wordle: four, my starter was USAGE

Fun and annoying fact about yesterday’s Wordle solution: According to my stats I previously used ENTRY as a starter sixteen times! Motherfu…..

  1. Power went out at 4am. I’ve been up since.

I’ve moved 7.5 gallons of water from my catchment buckets to one of my rain barrels. While I don’t like hand watering I do like having water on hand.

  2. Back from a Kroger run where I got expensive gas (should have filled up in Cobb yesterday) and 4x Fuel Points to use next month.

We need to get to Kroger today for some groceries – and we still have 60 cents off gas to use before the end of the month

Not sure how much rain we got – I heard on the news this morning that the airport for 2 inches yesterday.

Apparently, the hasher’s son is still hanging in on Jeopardy! We went to watch is last night, but it was pre-empted with radar and storm warnings. Priorities, people!! We will watch it direct from Hulu later today.

The puppies might have been outside when it really started raining yesterday afternoon. Oops.

All my camping gear is put away. Minimal oil usage in the last day of riding. From what I can tell, nothing unusual is going on.

yep – Adam Remsen is still in it – I recorded it – so all I saw was the final question – I’ll record it again tonight. he’s won almost $100,000 in 5 shows.

  5. Just returned from a walk over to UFO, where I did some complimentary weeding since the ground is saturated from the rain. Yes, tomorrow is a work/cleanup day, but why not get a jump on it?

Upon walking home I ran into Betsy and her dog Dorothy, and then saw Nicola and Matt cycling along Glenwood Ave.

new to Paulie bike frame has arrived – we will see when Allan has time to build Paul another bike

  7. Wanted to go out to watch USA soccer match, but just woke up from a long nap and don’t feel like going out.

  8. Spanish speaking countries must have given up renaming countries when Australia came around, because they call it “Australia”. 😀
