I don’t know how many more road trips I can take because I am increasingly distressed by the amount of land which is being developed into roads, housing developments, and businesses. We continue to destroy the environment, and I dread the country we are leaving for future generations.
I knew going away for five days would risk the health of the seedlings I had growing in the basement, and unfortunately I was very right. Even though I loaded them up with water, when I got home yesterday they were all looking incredibly sad and near death. Time will tell if they survive…
I intended to see a concert at The EARL tonight. However when I went to ensure tickets were still available the show had been removed from the calendar. I cannot find any explanation for the removal, and it appears that the band, Telehealth, still plans to perform in other cities.
Wordle: three, my starter was TREAD

A long but good day yesterday. Back in the box by 4:30. Amazing the amount of work you can get out of folks for food and a T-shirt.
Met Debbie for dinner at Dwarf House and now have the big truck. Will start the launch procedures shortly. Letting this crazy Stone Mountain Freeway traffic clear.

as I’ve gotten older – lots of work for food & a t-shirt doesn’t really appeal to me – especially the tshirt part. I really don’t need any more – I keep trying to get rid of tshirts – I have way too many.
glad it was a successful Games. How was dinner at the Dwarf House – I always find that interesting there is a real restaurant there (as well as the fast food side)
Dinner was good. I had a real hamburger (so much for “Eat ‘mo chicken”) with okra and Brussels Sprouts. Debbie just had a nugget meal. Years ago, it was open 24 hours- back int the Ford plant days and it was a staple of 3rd shift, even from downtown!
I’m with Barb- do not give me a t-shirt! I have 8 million t-shirts, most of which I never wear.
Why are you all trying to put children out of work?
(kidding)
I’m happy for the children to work 12 hours a day to make me something else. Gotta make their 50 cents per hour, ya know.
That’s the spirit! Their little hands are so nimble and capable of making many things…
While I too have more t-shirts and baseball caps than I will need for the rest of my life, I guess I fall into the “will do it” camp as I give up many days volunteering for Trees Atlanta and Concrete Jungle for self satisfaction and swag.
oh – I may still do the volunteer work -but – don’t give me a t-shirt.
I’m doing an Alzheimer walk in a couple of weeks – and made sure my donation on my name was under the $100 that gets you a t-shirt. And then I donated on another person’s page too- since they were trying to get to whatever threshold amount.
Splashing the money around! 😀
I just thought of something that only a weirdo like myself would find entertaining. Since I go into a lot of Goodwill stores I can report that there are thousands of t-shirts that no one wants to keep. I would like to organize an event that gives you a random, clean, appropriately-sized t-shirt instead of the same one as everyone else. I’d guess buying in bulk from Goodwill would be cheaper than the cost of new shirts. Again, I know I’m the only one who would find this interesting.
that would be kind of a great – funny idea.
But- to get the correct size shirts would be a PITA for the people that signed up.
I’m sure it’s an idea that sounds cool, but in practice would be a nightmare. 🙂
it could be a fun hash theme idea

weird trivia for the day – HR PuffnStuff only had 17 episodes ever made
Weird thing about H.R. Pufnstuf is that it was a fucking weird show. Sid and Marty Krofft must have access to some great drugs.
See Also: The Banana Splits
might have to see what I can find on the internet to watch again –
Serious drugs. Maybe it would have all made sense if we were there on the trip!
This is where your 10 years on me makes a difference. I’ve *heard* of Pufnstuf but I’ve never seen it.
Hahahha, you’re such a youngster!
Jenka is ahead of me, I’d never heard of it, and from y’alls discussion, it’s not remotely my cup of tea. I have better stuff to do with my time than watch that. 😉
it was a crazy Saturday morning show – & I was quite young – it was in 1969-1970
