Heading home from Raleigh. I had another fun weekend hanging with the Raleigh Royalty.
On Friday night we went to see Chatham County Line play an outdoor gig at LoneRider Brewing in Wake Forest.
With the exception of hating riding on the massively high ferris wheel, the NC State Fair was once again a fun time.
Wordle: five, my starter was CABIN. I’m starting to hate playing Wordle since I’m not good at it.
Well, we survived another Games, so far. Friday night/Saturday morning, a strong wind came through and took a big tree out, along g with a clan tent and 7 of our 10×20 tents we use for various things. We cleared debris and carried on. Good crowd both days. We worked until 9 last night and will be back at it at 8 this morning.
And the Mazda’s transmission may be dead.

wordle in 5 as well – with a made up word that was a word when I wasn’t expecting it to be one, so I wasted a guess.
Weekend was good – went mtn biking both days – I think we have the wheelhopper for Sunday figured out – basically just a trail ride, but the trails up there are fun.
went to a small party at Kerry & Jaco’s place up in Canton Saturday night – then up to Talking Rock Sunday, my car got a few miles on it for a change.
Another quiet weekend. Saturday we went to Mellow Mushroom in midtown for lunch and then watched college football all day until bedtime. Yesterday I watched the Pats game and then made butternut squash soup with the squash I had gotten in my last CSA box. I also made a pork loin in the crockpot and roasted potatoes and cauliflower for dinner.
Amazing piece of luck yesterday: I always buy big jars of minced garlic because I use so much of it that I can’t be bothered to mince 20 cloves of garlic every time I cook. Yesterday I used the last little bit and went to the cupboard to open the next one, but it turned out I had forgotten to buy more! What to do with all the food I was cooking?! Then I turned to recycle the delivery bag from our ramen order the night before, and the bag was empty except for one small plastic container, like the kind they put sauce in. The container said “garlic” and it was full of fresh minced garlic! The restaurant just happened to send along a container of minced garlic with our ramen! Crazy.
Boo to the Pats! 🙂
That Jets / Pats game was the only game in which I had interest that didn’t go my way.
The Jets played way better than I expected. That third quarter was rough for the Pats!

Busy week ahead, especially for someone who likes having freedom.
And North Carolina has an amazing farmers market in Raleigh, unless you arrive when it opens on Monday. There was one vendor starting to get ready, and all other stalls were covered. No sweet potatoes or apples for me today…
Later than anyone reads, but I am finally back at the ITP Estate.
Not when you have been too busy putting the Games to bed. I announced the official closing of the Games at 5 o’clock exactly. We almost made 4:15, but then had a few final items to store. Good crew of experienced rented mules today. Knew what to do and did it. They make me look good.
