I may have massively failed at making English Muffins yesterday, but I succeeded in cooking dinner in a crockpot. I made “Chicken Cacciatore for Two” from a cookbook called “The Mediterranean Slow Cooker Cookbook for Seniors” by Marilyn Luis that I downloaded free from Amazon last week.
On the week when I could be using it to make three commutes via bicycle — dropping my car off for maintenance, Trees Atlanta, and Oakhurst Porchfest — I am driving the bike I’ve acquired for that purpose to Marietta today for maintenance. I guess that I will have to return to riding my once-trusty “mountain” bike.
Wordle: four, my starter was AFOUL
its been a morning already – who knows, I may come join you at Schoolhouse…….
Do it!
I am planning to be there at 13:30, Chip says that he will also make an appearance.
wordle in 5 – oh well
Wordle in 3! Take that, bioches!
On my 16 mile ride yesterday, I accumulated enough mud on one of the climbs that I had to stop halfway up. I could feel the additional weight on the tires. Realizing my chosen route ahead wouldn’t be much better, I stayed on the road back to the house. Allan will be pleased I washed the bike when I got home.
Grocery store run to gather supplies for the next 12 days at Stone Mountain. I need to have something simple when I get back to camp, as I’m likely to be whipped and not looking to go out and find dinner.
Laundry running, hair cut shortly, then chiro, and taking Walter to re-education camp. The trainer watched him work last week and decided that whoever raised him skipped some steps. He’s great until he’s not, and that’s a problem.

Allan will be SHOCKED Steve 😉
As I was going down the driveway of the doggie daycare place this morning another car was coming up. It’s narrow but there’s plenty of room for two cars, but this car was in the middle and then barely moved over, and I ended up scraping the right side mirror on the concrete wall. It’s only a very minor scrape but it’s really irritating that the other driver was so dumb.
Sushi as usual last night and then we watched the Falcons actually play football.
People are the worst!
The NFL game last night had (at least) two things going against it for me:
1. It started too late.
2. I knew it would be interrupted constantly by commercial breaks.
I wasn’t sure I could even watch the game, it was on ESPN no?, but figured that a local channel would air it since it was a Falcons game).
it was actually on channel 46 last night (formerly CBS, before they switched to channel 69)
We watched the 1st half – the Mannings show on Espn2 (or some channel like that – I like them & their guests better than the regular announcers)
All the words which get autocorrected, and it can’t switch “Flacons” to “Falcons”? WTF…
During the Pats-Bills game on Sunday at least 6 players got injured to the point where they had to go to commercial. There were 80 billion commercials. I just mute it and read my book during them.
Jenka – bummer about the mirror getting scratched
It’s super minor, but I was really irritated. My car is like-new, I don’t like it getting scratched.
This week’s lost item is my U-lock.
One day I am going to start finding all this shit that is *somewhere* in the ITP Estate (or in the M6) and be fucking thrilled!
Crazy roadtripping in-laws almost back – can’t believe they only stayed out there 2 weeks or so
Wow. That’s still a long time for them.
