The other day I watched concert footage from 1985 (!) of Stevie Ray Vaughan playing “Voodoo Child”. Originally recorded by Jimi Hendrix, Vaughan’s rendition was amazing. It made me realize that I have never listened to a Jimi Hendrix album; that omission will be rectified this week.

Oh man, what a treat to be newly discovering Jimi Hendrix. SRV’s older brother Jimmy opened for Bob Dylan this summer, and played one SRV song. It was an incredible experience. Also, a 17-year old named Taj Farrant opened for Buddy Guy. That kid felt like SRV reincarnated.

    • I’ve heard a lot of Hendrix, but only what the radio played in the 70s and 80s. I’ve never owned a Hendrix album, and thus have never listened to any front-to-back, which what I will do today.

went to the Chiro yesterday, he said I my back was more twisted than normal – I blame long airline flights.

nothing else exciting going on at all…………

Wordle in 4.. streak of 1!!!! (I’m still pissed at myself).

The formerly hot wire in the backyard is hot once again. It will take a little maintenance to keep hot, as the leaves like to pile up against it. I haven’t heard a dog hit it yet, but I’m sure they have.

Dressed to ride, but not feeling inspired. Nothing else on the agenda today.

  5. Decided to try an experiment in WLF because I had a bed available. I mixed up a bunch of old lettuce seeds and scattered them into this bed, watered, and covered with a cloth. Time will tell if anything grows and I have some fresh salad this Fall/Winter.

    • Barb says:

I was thinking maybe I’d try to grow some lettuce this fall, but is it still too hot to really start?

BTW – my tomato plants are late bloomers on a few – we had some red ones when we got back. They are small, but hey – better than none!
and – my peppers aren’t growing much at all this year, they are usually the 1 type of plant that always does ok.

I love Jimi Hendrix, although I also have never bought an album of his. Not that it matters anymore.

Baseball is both fun to watch these days as well as heartbreaking. Every game means so much, so when we lose it’s worse. 10 more games in the season.

  7. Barb says:

the What’s App group for Croatia has a gone down a rabbit hole, 1 person asked who was riding the BBC Saturday, an few answered – & then I asked – who has gone & bought a E-Bike this week?

One lady said yes – she’s shopping, and a couple people gave recommendations, then an annoying guy is getting deep into it – and not believing & going into details when someone says something he doesn’t think is right.

    • Jenka says:

Ugh, that is so annoying. Like he knows everything.

      • Barb says:

I talked to him a few times on the boat, but tried not to, he just wanted to talk about whatever he wanted to talk about, I’d ask a question, he wouldn’t answer & just droned on about whatever. I started trying to totally avoid him

        • Jenka says:

It is a personal pet peeve of mine when people don’t answer a question. Not just mine, in any context. Like if a person is being interviewed and they get asked a question that they just don’t answer and instead they talk about what they want to talk about. Rage.

  8. I have ventured to drive to Morrow (ish) to run a couple of errands. Unfortunately (for my figure) this also meant stopping at a Chinese buffet for lunch. I will punish myself later.

    • I also *almost* bought an 8-disc PBS mini-series documentary about the history of New York (up to 2003, when the documentary came out). Even though each disc was priced separately, thus the set would cost about $10, I passed on it because I couldn’t find Disc 4 and refused to buy seven of eight discs.

    • Errands Run in Morrow:
      – Goodwill
      – Harbor Freight
      – Dollar Tree
      – Nam Dae Mun
      – Home Depot
      – lunch

      • David says:

One of my favorite things about renting, as opposed to owning, is that I now only need to darken Home Depot’s door maybe twice a year. There are many other things this list, but I’d crash the server if I tried to delineate all of them. 😉

    • Dinner was supposed to be a chicken, eggplant, pepper, mushroom curry. Due to my continued feeling of fullness, dinner has been cancelled. I will make the curry tomorrow as I’m preparing the casserole to take with me for the GA Wild Foods Weekend, and freeze whatever I don’t eat tomorrow.
