Thanks to Betsy I’ve been watching a British procedural called Vera. There were fourteen seasons (or “series” to the Brits) aired on BBC, but oddly only thirteen of those fourteen seasons are available for streaming; inexplicably you can’t stream Season 9.

For the first time I used 00 flour for the dough for my pizza last night. The flavor and texture of the pizza was outstanding, but the dough was far harder to stretch and shape than my previous pies.

At IKEA the other day I bought some boxes of assorted pralines on clearance, for 50¢/box; each box contains fifteen pieces. The chocolates are amazing! If IKEA were closer to the ITP Estate I’d return to purchase more.

Wordle: three, my starter was OPIUM

Wordle in 5. Not of a word I think of very often!!

Day 2 of the battle of the PI. I quit about 3:30 yesterday because I was exhausted. Only 2 spots of the evil PI on both wrists.

Watched Artemis 2 launch. Curiously, I was watching the YouTube feed and Debbie finally turned on the ABC coverage. ABC was 6 seconds behind- all the plumbing, up to the sat and back down. For a network guy, the delay was kinda neat. The in-flight pictures from the jettisoned stages was also pretty cool. One day we’ll get down for a launch.

I missed the launch- Mindy & I went for a walk on the Bob Callen/Rottenwood Creek trail (she had never been out there) & then went to a Three Dollar Cafe on Windy Hill that I always forget is there. It’s a weird space, a small room in the front – and the bar/cigar bar separate in the back. Waitress over used the word HUN – but she was very nice.

Its Allan’s birthday -he does not like to make it a big deal – so no idea what we are doing for lunch or dinner. Might go over the Am Legion for a happy hour drink, a friend wants to find out about getting his band to play there on a Friday night.

We went to Ocean Wave (formerly Harry & Sons) for dinner and watched the launch on the TV there. It was pretty cool. Otherwise going to the Braves game was awesome, such beautiful weather, not too crowded, Braves won. An awesome day!

  4. Home from a warm morning of volunteering with Trees Atlanta. I also had to vacuum out the back half of the M6 this up in arriving home because I transported two bales of hay which were free to me.

Also, on my drive to Trees Atlanta I managed to get a piece of thin wire stuck in one of my tires. Arg!!! It did feel as if it deeply penetrated, so I’m going to keep my eye on the tire pressure for a few days.

    • I was going to reward myself with beer and Eats again, but with the tire thing and the car full of dirty hay bales I decided to return home to eat leftover pizza.

      • My verdict about using 00 flour for pizza dough is that this was the best pizza I’ve made at home, even though it was harder to shape than other doughs I’ve made in the past.

because I’m lazy – what is oo flour?

          • According to AI, as taken from other sources:

“00” flour is a finely milled Italian flour known for its smooth texture and moderate gluten content, making it ideal for pizza dough, pasta, and other Italian baked goods. It is graded by fineness, with “00” being the finest grind, and is often used to achieve a crispy yet chewy crust in Neapolitan-style pizza.

City boy! Did you mean hay or straw? Hay runs about $12-17 a bale, depending on the variety. Straw.. don’t.

      • Could be straw, could be hay. I’ve received two, rectangular cubes which were strapped with wire… for free. So if I saved $15 or $35, it matters not. I will either use them to grow potatoes (see also Ruth Stout method) or spread them around WLF.

        • And potatoes have been jammed into my free “stray” bales, time will tell if the Ruth Stout method will work for me at this time (potatoes should have been planted three weeks ago as they don’t like Atlanta heat).

All of the potatoes which have been in the ground are going gangbusters.

          • Bob says:

If Matt Damon can grow potatoes on Mars than you should be able to grow potatoes in a hay bale in WLF 🙂
