I’m actively seeking a new company to provide auto and home insurance. In November my soon-to-be-former insurance company laid out demands for tree limb removal and a new roof, proof of the completion of these by March 30th else I would be dropped. Well, last week they sent me a letter two months ahead of their deadline, informing me that my policy will be terminated on March 30th due to failure to comply with their demands. I could confront them, but instead I’d rather stop giving them my business after being a loyal customer for forty consecutive years.
It’s that time of year where the weather fluctuates so wildly that my body can’t handle it and I feel “sick”, as if I have a cold. Which is how I feel at the moment. I interact with so few people on a daily basis, sometimes none, that I can’t blame others for spreading their germs, though many do as if they cannot remember what occurred six years ago, sneezing and coughing without any effort to contain their germs.
Wordle: six, my starter was ORBIT. Might be time for me to quit Wordle?
Today I will spend time reading about insurance terms so that I can be prepared to navigate waters in which I have not swam in a very long time.
We have USAA – but that isn’t an easy one to get into.
If I was searching new Insurance -I’d find a broker that does all the research for you.
I’ve had friends mention doing that – and they have saved some money.
(I do not have a suggestion on who to contact – but I bet the google or some search engine could help you out with that)
I may qualify for USAA (dad served in WWII). I am considering getting a broker, in fact I think this is what my credit union offers. I’ll learn more today/tomorrow.
getting into USAA is the hard part – we had to have TJ do something, and my sister was trying using my dad’s credentials, but it was a lot of PITA, so she gave up.
IF & when I decide to start over with insurance, I’ll go with a broker. I’m way too lazy to try to figure it all out on my own.
We used to have USAA but then their premiums got super high, so we switched to Traveler’s. For a while USAA was the best choice around if you could get in, but those prices were ridiculous.
last night Annette & I went to what we call the old people gym – the Cobb County senior services center. (it is free for ages 55+) It’s been a while – and I need to get on some weight training. They are open until 7pm Tuesday – Thursday – so we decided we need to get over there at least 2 times a week.
How do you workout after eating an Early Bird dinner? 😀
they only have lunch over there – so I’m safe on that 😉
– it’s about 20 minutes over there, so unless I’ve got a really slow workday, it’s basically impossible to do it during the day.
Wordle in 4 and my starter was QUEST! Just popped into my head.
We also have USAA and it comes via the starter wifes’ dad. Barb, I thought “we” could recommend people? Maybe I’m wrong. I’ve thought about shopping it around as the auto insurance seems very high, but I hate paperwork.
Sadly, no bike ride yesterday, but while out in the beautiful weather I got a good start on the “retaining wall” for the barn area. That area runs down the hill and I’m trying to keep it in check- we shall see.
Off to Lowe’s.

I do not know about referrals, I thought it has to be a family member that was in the military. Maybe when I’m bored (hahahaha) I can call & ask.
You all talked about the beautiful weather yesterday while I was stuck in my office. By the time I left it was raining. Wer wer. It was taco Tuesday at Barbacoa and then we watched an episode of OMITB. We get Finn today so we will be back to TGBBS for a few days.
What time did you leave? It only started raing at our house about 10 last night. And only a quarter inch or so.
I left the office around 6 and while it wasn’t actively raining then it was very dark and ominous. By the time we got to the restaurant around 7 is was raining.
Woo Hoo!! Countertop people are on their way! We have been stalled for 3 days but will be back to progress today. I really can’t wait to get my kitchen back.
Yesterday was crazy, slow all day at work so I decided to do some work on my truck. I replaced a brake caliper that was sticking. When I came in to clean up all hell broke loose at work as our AV solution decided to falsely quarantine a file that made laptops go in to a reboot loop. There were close to 150 people impacted and everybody wanted a fix immediately. No time for troubleshooting just fix it! Good times and I was online until 8PM (I start work at 7AM).
All good now and cleanup is under way.
Ground was finally “workable”, so lettuce transplants are in the ground. It will be interesting to see how well they survive the remaining winter. The ones I planted a few weeks ago have kicked the bucket.
Kind of a yucky day out there. WH, Lowe’s, CVS, and CfA stops completed and back to watching it not really rain. Great news on the countertops, Bob! When is the party?
OK, I take it back- we can’t provide you USAA membership. You dad may be a way in.
I didn’t think so, but now I wonder if family (that isn’t military) can refer another family member (since we used a Grove, not my dad to make it work)
went over to Which Wich in East Cobb – saw some students marching with their Abolish ICE signs walking down 120.
So good to see the kids today getting involved
