Inside The Perimeter

I had a very productive day yesterday.

By lunchtime I had:
– transplanted some bean plants (hopefully in an area where they won’t get eaten by a critter)
– gotten the M6’s emissions test done (it passed)
– renewed the M6’s tag for another year
– discovered I couldn’t renew my drivers license at the Kroger kiosk
– gone to Dollar Tree and purchased a bench scraper, some 70% isopropyl alcohol, and a nail brush
– mailed a letter at the Scottdale post office
– stopped at Lidl for some salad and peanuts
– attempted to propagate a raspberry plant from a current raspberry plant

I know that I am over a month early for getting my automobile tasks done, but why wait if I have the time? I need to figure out the best time to go to the DMV for my drivers license renewal.

You will never believe me, but it rained in East Atlanta yesterday!

I have a big day of errands and choring ahead of me today. My day started when I awoke around 4:30am, not by choice, but my errands can’t start in earnest until 9:00am when the emissions test place opens.

Summertime heat is here!

I made an incredible dinner last night, Louisiana Dirty Rice. When I make this again in the future I might have to cut the recipe in half, because I have a large Tupperware filled with leftovers. Sadly, it used none of Wee Little Farm’s crops, well, maybe some garlic.

Last night was also my first Monday Night Movie Night, for which I watch a movie I’ve purchased at a thrift store during the past year. Last night’s movie choice was Best in Show.

I didn’t accomplish a heck of a lot this past weekend, mostly sitting in bars drinking. That’s not to say that I am sorry about that…

Today will be all about striking things from my long To-Do list.

Wordle: three, my starter was STARK

First tomato of the year eaten, a small, slightly larger than a ping pong ball, Heinz variety. It was sublime.

I made a potato leek soup last night, to which I added a yellow squash and some garlic. The only vegetable put into the soup which was not harvested from Wee Little Farm was an onion. I could have used the small onions I harvested, but the store-bought one was older and needed to be used.I realized that I didn’t have the heavy cream in the soup recipe, but not wanting to go out just to buy that, I substituted while milk and sour cream; the result was decent.

If this weather pattern continues I will never have to use sprinklers in WLF for the rest of the growing season…

Well it appears I made the right decision to give up on watching Atlanta United after they gave up the first goal in last night’s game. Within ten minutes after halftime they gave up three more goals and lost 4-0. Ugh.

I have nothing today other than this morning I am making my second attempt at baking a loaf of white bread.

After giving up on riding last night due to rain I finally got back into WLF to slam in the four posts that I will use for two Florida weaves to keep up the six San Marzano tomato plants I transplanted yesterday.

Spent nearly the whole of yesterday running errands. I should have been smart and brought the socket wrench I am trying to replace with me to Harbor Freight, but I didn’t, so I couldn’t convince myself to buy two different sizes so that I could return the wrong one. Dangen.

Had a tasty lunch with ITP-Reader Barb and Allan yesterday at Hankook Taqueria. Even though I ordered something different, nor,ally I get bulgolgi, I enjoyed my meal. I ordered the shrimp burrito instead.

I found out this morning that British comedian Sarah Millican is touring the US this year, with at show at The Tabernacle in November. Much to my surprise, the show is already sold out. Huh.

BRAG is over, more than 330 miles of cycling and I gained two pounds, and have arms with heat rash. Our BRAG riding weather was fine, with a few nights of overnight, heavy rain.

Upon returning home Saturday I took a quick peek at WLF. The farm looked fair, though some plants look as if they were starving for water while others were so abundant that their limbs snapped. Almost immediately after I returned home and put the rain fly outside to dry, the severe thunderstorms started. I have made the first springtime harvest, however, five yellow squash/zucchini, which makes me wonder if I planted any green zucchini.

BRAG Day 5: Dawsonville to Clarksville. All in all, I had a good, strong ride. This is my second time in Clarksville, BRAG came here in 2023 on the Clayton to Augusta route.

Rain came hard to Clarksville last night around 9pm. We were in the only part of the northern section of the state to get rain. My rainfly has been packed wet every day, either with internal condensation or rain. I decided to stay in my tent and organize during the deluge, missing out on the fun happening under our pop up tents. Seems when I am ready to party, the rest aren’t and vice verse.
