Happy Fourth of July (observed)!
Wow did I knock myself out yesterday. While proud of my efforts, perhaps doing a double shift of manual labor in this heat wasn’t the best idea. I think I even developed heat rash in both armpits.
That being said it was fun to finally ride the Beltline to Trees Atlanta, and I did some good work at both locations. I expected that we’d be harvesting more at Concrete Jungle’s farm, but like everywhere else the heat and lack of rain is taking its toll.
Today I will be returning Steve’s bike frame, and finally taking my new ride out on the roads. I almost can’t believe that I’ve yet to ride it, but life and weather kept getting in the way.
I’ve no plans for the weekend other than stay indoors when not working in Wee Little Farm, and hoping that no idiot neighbor hits my roof with fireworks or bullets. To think, back in the day I’d wake early to run the Peachtree on the fourth. Oh well, my running days ended years ago…
Wordle: two, my starter was CABIN
Wordle in 5 and should have been 4. Nice deuce.
Debbie has made it 2/3’s of the way home. She was just getting to Tupelo as I woke up at 7, having driven through the night. I saw her start the drive and apparently Waze gave her trouble- she had to turn around on a dead end gravel road!! Not easy with a horse trailer!
C’mon Paulie, let’s ride before it gets hot.

Wordle in 3.
Day off today, going to do a little ride this morning, probably meeting a friend for lunch. After that… who knows.
Need to get to Kroger, figure out something to take to a friend’s pool tomorrow.
Don’t forget your run as one of the official photographers of the Peactree Road Race!

Those were the days…
Back from a warm 26 miles with Paulie. We even got to watch a train go through Moreland as we were taking a break. Glad to be done with exercise..
pure coincidence – I did 26.5 miles – some flat by the river, some not so flat thru the neighborhoods
Nice work, Barb! I took him up the long climb into Grantville. BRAG did it the year they ended in Newnan. It’s the longest climb I can easily get to. A pretty good day.
And I’m back at the ITP Estate and just wolfed down a hamburger.
Good ride Steve, thanks.
I ran the Peachtree several years and I always hated it. Too much of a clusterfuck.
Hello from the depths of Ellijay! We arrived on Wednesday in time to have the new awning on the deck installed. The irony is that even with the awning it’s too hot to sit out there. Yesterday we did errands in town and had lunch at Ruby Tuesday, then sat inside watching World Cup until the sun went down so it was cool enough to sit outside.
Congrats on the new horsie, Steve!
Good on you all for getting out there this morning. My muscles are going to completely atrophy this week, and I’m okay with that.
I mighta just laughed out loud!
About to go find what’s for lunch and there may be MORE napping this afternoon while the rest of my muscles atrophy!
Happy napping!
