In anticipation of a new BRAG jersey I forked over some money to Primal Wear for a pair of road cycling shorts to make a kit. For an old, fat person who rides but seven months out of the year I have an abundance of cycling clothing.

The Bundesliga season has ended. Werder Bremen managed to escape relegation, though as was par for the season they didn’t manage to score in their 0-2 loss in the finale. I will be canceling Disney/Hulu/ESPN before month’s end.

Wordle: five, my starter was SLING. Another day where my Wordle instincts were poor.

  1. My loosely-knit plan to do a long Silver Comet ride this morning fell apart for many reasons:
    – I was unprepared
    – I was awake at 5am and started ITP Estate and Wee Little Farm projects soon thereafter
    – I am lazy
    – And while I will go OTP occasionally, I choose not to do so on consecutive days. Since I have a dental appointment tomorrow across from Turner Field Truist Park, tomorrow will be be the day

  2. I planted seeds for four different varieties of okra this morning. I hope that they all germinate and produce pods.

  3. Unless I hear something very soon I’m giving up on the dream of renting an Ormewood Farm allotment this year.

    Is this thing on?

I guess you are all leading much more interesting lives than I am…

    Wordle in 6!

Watching the TT from the Giro. A long one- 42km. It’s a nice day, as opposed to recent stages with a fair amount of rain.

I got 17 in the HEAT of the afternoon yesterday. Went by the bridge on 54 and it’s damn close. Paint some lines and finish the landscaping and it will be open. The 2 guys I spoke with- one, no hable englaise and the other a shovel leaner still thought 2 weeks. Those of us who are inconvenienced by this work are more than ready.

Have to review my ballot, then go vote. Also making a Lowe’s run.

  6. Finger is still a little puffy, but less tender than yesterday. I have four more days of antibiotic to take as well.

So, did they find a splinter or what? I have a “feeling” in the base of my right thump that feels like a splinter, but no sign of anything. I’m sure it’s the cancer!

      • Nope, no splinter, but plenty of effluent. Doctor, who I believe might have been whatever the doctor equivalent is, said it was probably caused by an injury such as a cut, followed by something getting into it. Given the amount of time I spend working soil sans gloves it may be true?

I voted on my way into the office today. In and out in 5 minutes. That DeKalb ballot was crazy, I do wish I’d done more research. I did some research, but there were so many candidates for so many seats.

Sushi as usual and then watched the Sox actually win a game.

  8. Barb says:

how did you people not early vote?
I looked it up – only 1 million ish of 8.2 million people early voted (which actually is a record)
We voted last week – I did print out the ballot ahead of time so I could try to figure out who was who. I should have kept my list – to see if I guessed right

    • Jenka says:

I kept telling myself to go vote over the past two weeks but never got my shit together.

    • Steve says:

They have recently moved the location for early voting in Meriwether County. I know it’s in Greenville, but the old location is now a restaurant!

    • It’s more of a commitment for me to go where early voting is held. And, for non-presidential elections I rarely wait to vote on Election Day. I waited three minutes to check in, mostly because someone spilled a drink at one of the stations causing the, to stop checking people in there until the mess was cleaned up.

    • David says:

I’m with you, Barb. My days never go as planned, and so it’s a kindness to myself to vote early.

  9. Back from walking to/from voting. It’s amazing how easily my body sweats. Today’s adulting treat was a few snap peas from WLF. There won’t be many out there this year so I am cherishing what is being produced.

  10. Steve says:

I was #114 in Luthersville at 10:00. That seems like a lot.

The winner of the TT today AVERAGED over 34 MPH! Can you say “Motoring!”?
