I’m in the process of cleaning up, and out, my basement; it’s a big job. I’m also trying to start some indoor gardening. Unfortunately my first attempt to grow mushrooms failed, mold started growing in the bag.

Wordle: two, my starter was. ALTER. My first Wordle deuce since January!

Wordle in 4. Congrats on the deuce. I had one last weekend, though I don’t remember the word.

A surprise in the mail yesterday. Apparently, almost 6 years of service with Federal Home Loan Bank gets you a pension! Lump sum of just over $45k or $300 a month. I guess if you never touch the funds and leave it for over 30 years, that happens!

16 miles yesterday. Still warm, but not terrible.

  3. I thought I had something to blog about today, other than the 24-year anniversary of “9/11”, but I couldn’t remember what I wanted to write. *shrug*

you don’t want to talk about the Charlie Kirk shooting, and the craziness it has brought out on both sides of the aisle???

Didn’t do much yesterday besides work, but did a 5 mile neighborhood walk with Sal last night, got to catch up with her – that was nice.

No baseball to watch last night (well, Kevin just doesn’t want to watch the Braves lose anymore) so we watched Jeopardy and Somebody Feed Phil and I made a dinner of baked chicken, roasted cauliflower, and mashed potatoes. Have you guys ever heard of salt potatoes? I feel like we’ve talked about them before. Anyway, they are an upstate NY delicacy of tiny potatoes boiled in salt water. In UNY they sell bags of potatoes with a packet of salt included at the grocery store. One of Kevin’s childhood friends lives down here and over the weekend he dropped off a true bag of salt potato kit onto our porch (he wanted to give us a gift for our anniversary). The only problem was that the potatoes were so old that they already had growths on them and they were super rubbery. The only thing you can do with them is make mashed potatoes. So I did.

    Wasn’t that a great story?

wordle in 3 – Paulie wins

I’m having lunch with JoAnna today – they were supposed to go walk the Camino this month, but decided to just be tourists in Spain instead. I can’t wait to hear where all they end up going.

  7. I’m on the brink of telling Disney/Hulu/ESPN to go fuck themselves. Even though I have an account, I keep having to log in, activate, whatever, multiple times in order to watch the content for which I pay.

    • Jenka says:

And also it’s so tetchy and glitchy. Not only do you have to login to ESPN constantly, but then the video won’t play.

      • Oh yeah, last night when I tried to watch anything via the Hulu app on my iPad it refused, telling me that it wasn’t available in my region, or that I should stop using the VPN (that I was not using).

    • Steve says:

Screwy. I can never figure out why some websites can get my personal information when filling out forms and some don’t. Same thing with passwords.

I think they cut the overall TT distance by more than half for todays stage- I guess they didn’t have enough security for the greater distance? The reason given was the protests.

    • I might try to get through this season of Only Murders and True South, and contemplate whether or not to continue to give them money. Sure I will miss The Bear, along with other shows, in addition to German Soccer, but it’s too frustrating.

I’ve been taken to hoarding coffee because the prices and bag sizes keep going in opposite directions. Publix pretty reliably has a BOGO every week. Whilst shopping there today I noticed that the 8 O’Clock Coffee bags at the Disco Publix are still 12 oz. I didn’t notice the price. So it could be that the bags are old, or maybe the manufacturer is selling different sized bags at different stores. Who knows. I had an appointment in Buckhead today, and I stopped at that Publix to get more of their house-made gourmet popcorn, and to check the coffee BOGO.

    • I’d say old bags, since the coffee to which I referred this morning was purchased from Publix last week. I also looked at Kroger yesterday and bags I saw of a Kroger coffee were 11oz. These are just the things with which we have to deal I suppose.
