I did something I was hoping to avoid — buying new pants for the wedding I will attend in two weeks. Had I not gotten rid of all my fat suits when I was so much thinner, this wouldn’t have been necessary. I really thought that I’d keep the weight off. I am too undisciplined to diet, and unwilling to do GLP1, in order to lose the weight again anytime soon.
I did something I have been waiting until November to do — register for BRAG Spring Tune Up.
My left eyelid is being a little bitch again, and unfortunately it appears that a new chalazion is forming. I will see how bad it gets before I decide whether or not I will have it removed.
Wordle: three, my starter was DAIRY
For WLF’s sake I hope it rains a lot today.
For my sake I hope that I take advantage of the rain and accomplish a lot of indoor choring.
no mention of the Blue Tsunami? (they changed it from blue wave)
Even though I’m pretty sure everyone knows my political leaning, I’m not a political person. I will say that I was surprised that Bottoms was elected governor. I would have preferred Abram’s to have run again because I wasn’t impressed with Bottoms when she was Atlanta’s mayor.
I was surprised it wasn’t closer for the governor race.
I personally feel the amount of money Jackson spent was a big deciding factor – the constant commercials EVERYWHERE, every streaming service, plus the mail EVERYDAY. I wouldn’t vote for him for that reason alone, even if I did agree with his views.
You just reminded me of something.
I couldn’t believe how much political mail I still receive. It may behoove politicians to get their shit out prior to the opening of early voting as well, since once I voted there is nothing their mail could have done to change my vote.
And, we live in interesting times. I wonder if/how this will change the vindictive nature of the current president.
They changed it again to the cringy Blunami, but hey, I’ll take it. I was shocked by Rick Jackson conceding the election at 9:30 PM last night. And shocked again when later Trump said he wasn’t going to contest the elections. Of course he has the memory of a goldfish, so who knows which of his knees will jerk today in some new direction.
It’s good to be able to breathe today. I didn’t realize how much I’ve been holding my breath during the run-up to the election. And I sure as hell didn’t see Keisha coming, or Black women taking over as Secretary of State and Attorney General. Beyond Georgia, Texas made me the happiest last night.
Currently researching making bread/dinner rolls…
I’m only slightly surprised about GA, but was hopeful.
I’m surprised & very happy about Iowa.
should be interesting to see what happens – especially between now & January for the people that got voted out – will they cause trouble for the Orange one? We can be hopeful on that front.
Wordle in 5.
We watched some of the election coverage last night. Debbie was quite surprised Keisha won. Had she been up against an established politician, I don’t think she would have. Just goes to prove money can’t always buy an election. Watching the rest of the returns across the country was a pleasure.
Ordered the lumber for run in #2 and it should be delivered today. I have to sort through what fasteners I have and see what I’m out of- joist hangers and whatnot.
And a new chain should be delivered today so I can get the road bike back on… the trainer! Winter is a comin’.
-FP
Winter is coming, which is why I need to dort out the audio problem, lack thereof, in the basement! I can ride a trainer, but not without a distraction.
Allan is just giddy about the elections
I am fully surprised and shocked about the elections. I thought Keisha didn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell. She was a horrible mayor and she will be an even worse governor, but I still prefer her over a racist, misogynist billionaire. I watched Jon Ossoff’s acceptance speech last night and he spoke like a presidential candidate, so we can look forward to that in 2028.
Went to Double Zero for dinner and then home to watch election results long past my bedtime. I just can’t believe that this red state full of country yayhoos elected a bunch of Democrats. When we go up to Ellijay every single political sign is for Trump or a local Republican.
If you look at election results by county there is a clear dominance of red by area, but blue dominance by population density.
Yep, I looked at that map for like two hours on the TV last night.
That twat Susan Collins is ousted. Talarico wins in Texas. This is amazing and unbelievable.
and ABBOTT is out in TX. Too bad Ted Cruz wasn’t on the ballot this time too
Okay, enough couch time. I must get up and start being productive…
Lumber delivered. Now just need some good weather. I poured the last 2 little footings for the mid-spans yesterday. I hope this rain didn’t mess with them.
I’m pleased to see everyone I donated to won. Talerico, Andrews, Keisha, and Ossoff.
wordle in 4.
its raining pretty good today – In-laws for new HVAC yesterday, I’m sure the guys that did the install were very happy it wasn’t raining yesterday.
Some rain here, probably not enough, but I cherish all that hits WLF because it meant I didn’t have to use city water today.
That big rumble of thunder just startled the hell out of me.
A buddy of mine sent me a link to this article:
https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/dekalb-county/brewery-suspends-production-flagship-location/M6OXRTBL3RCY7EFW6GZKDMPST4/?tbref=hp
Which announces that Three Taverns is closing their flagship, Decatur, location.
Another one bites the dust…
but- they aren’t closing hte other locations – sooooooo – landlord issue maybe?
