It’s the final day of April? Blimey!
All I seemed to accomplish yesterday was come to the conclusion that none of my pepper seedlings are ready to replace the dead pepper plants I transplanted last week. Dangen! I noticed that we will be getting a few chilly mornings (below 50°F) next week, so it may not be that big of a deal?
I had considered getting out on my bar bike for a spin yesterday, but the day got away from me. Were I not delivering something to Trees Atlanta this morning I may have considered riding a bike to my volunteer shift at 9am.
Wordle: five, my starter was SLIDE
Rain gauge said 2” overnight. Wonder if I emptied it yesterday since the buckets captured the same amount as they did yesterday morning, 6 gallons.
Also, since it was a short deluge last night I’ve learned that I’ve yet to solve my water runoff problems in Wee Little Farm. I will investigate this week.
Wordle in 4 and could have been a 2! Well, almost.
Packed and loaded for a slightly rainy weekend on the scooter. Saturday looks like a complete bust, so will likely stay in camp and hang out.
More later from the road..

wordle in 4 – (all greens – like that really matters)
We walked up to see what all is being built at where the old Harry’s Farmers market was – its going to be a big apartment/whatever else complex. Since we were up that way – decided to stop at the Burger Bar. But didn’t get a burger, just got a pretzel as big as a head, and some wings (& a beer).
Allan wanted to go mtn bike ride this morning, but I’m guessing the trails may be closed due to the rain.
The pretzel at the Albert in Inman Park is also as big as a head. It’s SO good!
i never heard the rain last night either – but Allan did.
Kevin says we had quite the rainstorm last night, but I, the lightest sleeper in the world, slept right through it. He said the dog was shivering. Well, the previous night’s rain washed off a lot of the pollen off my car, and last night’s rain knocked off a lot of the bird shit. Yay!
The work end-of-year celebration went flawlessly last night, what a relief. The last speech ended at 8:30 and I practically ran out the door. There was a Jenka-shaped puff of smoke where I used to be, LOL.
you are so funny – its over – I’m OUT!
Well it was *8:30* AT NIGHT.
Paulie’s bike is all fixed up I’m told.
Nothing major I heard.
I have received my payment details. I may make a trip up tomorrow or Saturday, depending which works better for you.
we will not be here Saturday – so tomorrow or Monday (or Tuesday if you need a BOGO beer)
Thanks for the info. I will contact you tomorrow if I decide to come up tomorrow. If not I will confirm a date over the weekend.
Back from my Trees Atlanta volunteer duty. Had three potential lunch places, but decided to be disciplined and come home to eat leftovers.
The Tulsa equivalent of Trees Atlanta is called Up With Trees. I love that name so much.
Jenka, I saw your comment about Tulsa too late in the day to respond to it. Life is funny how things clump together sometimes.
I had a glorious hike yesterday on Turkey Mountain, which is eerily similar to the North Georgia mountains. What I didn’t realize is that geographically Tulsa falls right at the edge of where the mountains and trees stop and the prairie begins.
I am about tired of seeing Route 66 plastered everywhere though. I do love Route 66 but sheesh, you don’t have to plaster it everywhere. Goodwill has a multiblock compound of stores and warehouses with 66 plastered all over them. As if they ever had a goddamn thing do with that highway.
I am also getting my first experience driving an electric car. The cool thing is I can skip the gas station on the way back to the airport. The only requirement for is to return the car with at least a 6% charge. This rental car has a Florida tag on it, so someone clearly had nerves of steel trying to drive from say Tampa to Tulsa without having crippling range anxiety. I’ll keep burning up dinosaur juice on road trips, but I’ll definitely rent an electric car in the future if I just need wheels for a city visit.
so, you don’t have to charge it at all? That’s awesome
Nope! It’s pretty sweet! They didn’t have the car I reserved and asked if I was OK with an electric.
Arrived in Helen to overnight after picking up a couple churches on my list and avoiding Atlanta by going via Athens (not much difference)
So when you get home, you’ll have been to hell ‘n’ back. That’s all for me, be sure to tip your server, folks. I’ll see myself out now.
