What an interesting weekend.

On Friday I met ITP-Readers Barb and Stacy, along with others, at St Thomas More in Decatur for some Lent fried fish. Honestly, the meal was substandard (cold french fries, dense hush puppies), but tickled my desire to eat fish and chips. We also wandered over to The Brick Store and had a beer in the beer garden.

Saturday I met ITP-Readers Barb and Steve, along with Allan, for a good 27-mile ride around Silk Sheets. I intended to drive to Cochran Mill Brewing afterwards, only to find out that they went out of business on Friday — another brewery added to my list, which now contains 27 breweries.

So there I was, minding my own business at Manuel’s Tavern yesterday, when ITP-Reader Stacy enters…

Seems as if the whole weekend was centered on seeing friends twice…

Wordle: five, my starter was DAIRY. I think I’ve given up caring about my Wordle score.

    First? Inconceivable.

Today I learner some people GET PAID to play NYT games. Fuckers.

However, I don’t feel like the unpaid serf that Pokemon Go players have been. Their quests were unpaid labor for some sort of AI mapping tool, and the icing on top is Pokemon Go itself got sold for $3.5 billion now that the parent company collected the 30 billion pictures it needed from its uses. It’s pretty diabolical in my biew.

Wordle in 5 and had to throw something on the wall to get it to stick.

I thought I was in OK shape, but that ride Saturday absolutely kicked my a$$. I don’t know what was off, but I was cooked after we made the turn off Ga70 (?).

We met horse friends Saturday evening at Curious Cantina in PTC for a birthday dinner. Way too noisy for me, but the food was good. Roxanne had ordered an appetizer and it was delivered in front of me- some sort of cheese in a red hot caldron. Apparently, my expression was worth of several photos, but no cameras came out…

Yesterday was the Games “We Fooled Them Again” party at a bar off Sugarloaf Pkwy. A nice day to be outside under a tent with friends. 80 miles each way… ugh.

    Off to complete Friday’s errands.

    • I struggled more than I’d like to admit on Saturday.

I think we were all tired Saturday – but – we got 27 miles – that’s all that mattered.

Yesterday we rode in Roswell with a couple friends – did 24 miles – some of it hilly, some of it not. Ken’s condo (where we started) is at the top of a big climb, so finishing off with that was no fun – I really appreciated my E assist.
Had beers at a place called Proper Hop – they had a pop up burger grill – Sad Boys Burgers – damn that was a tasty burger. I will be following them on Instagram – I already want another burger. (maybe I was just hungry, but all 4 of us agreed they were really good burgers)
I’m just happy with us – we rode 3 out of 4 days. Maybe I won’t die at Spring Tune Up

  3. Finally put basil seeds in soil. Too late for Summer? Too early for Fall? Oh well, time will tell.

What a fabulous weekend in Fort Myers! The weather was PERFECT! We didn’t get settled into our hotel until dinner time so we went to Ford’s Garage. The next morning we slept in and went straight to the ballpark. Red Sox lost to the Braves 6-1 but it was still a great day for baseball. We ended up going to Ford’s Garage again for dinner because it ain’t broke. Yesterday our flight back was delayed three times and we didn’t get home until after 6:00. I made mac ‘n’ cheese for dinner.

did you notice the lines at the airport when you got back? I’m really wondering what time to get there on friday for a 12:45 flight?

Also – did you see the crash at LaGuardia this morning?
      Yikes!!!

      • Jenka says:

We got there on Friday at 10:45 and it took us 9 minutes to get through pre-check. The lines are only an issue early in the morning. Mid-morning has always been the quietest time.

        • Barb says:

a friend is at the airport right now -said the lines are still crazy long

          • Jenka says:

OH, I forgot to mention that we went to the international terminal.

          • Barb says:

we may have to do that – as like you said – there isn’t that many international flights mid morning. I know they have been saying you can’t go there for domestic – but I’d guess that is when it is super busy for international flights

          • Jenka says:

All 10 people in line for pre-check at the international terminal were there for domestic flights. We were chatting with them.

    Great weekend to be outside!
Friday dropped my truck off for service and went for a ride while they worked on it, I was at the furthest point away when they called to say it was ready 🙂 I managed a 21 mile ride though and felt great. Jumped on the moto afterwards and cruised around hitting some local spots.
Saturday was spent at Sweetwater state park where Laura did another 7 hour race. She met her goal of 7 loops. Went to Atlanta United Saturday night, I have no idea how Laura stayed awake.
Sunday was another moto day, rode the 6 gap course with a brewery stop in Cleveland (NoFo) and Dahlonega (52 West). Got in around 200 miles. Great day, weather was perfect and traffic was minimal.

Deb (hasher HoB) and I had just completed a walking tour and were quite nearby Manuel’s, so we dipped in for a cold one and lo-and-behold look who was already bellied up to the bar. Apparently we just save up for years and see each other entirely on one weekend.

  7. Barb says:

wordle in 5 – another word I would never think of, so I had to use the google
