Happy St Patrick’s Day! Being half Irish I spend twelve hours of St Patrick’s Day basking in the glory that is beer, and for the last thirty years a lot hours have been spent in Mexican bars. I have to admit that I miss being young and going to Ri O’Bravo in Buckhead (long gone…) with the guided notion that I was going to drink a lot of beer and the misguided notion that I was going to meet a woman who would want to date me.
I did something yesterday that has been a long time coming, I canceled my Adobe account. Much like a gym membership, paying Adobe a monthly subscription fee for something you are not using is financially dumb; I was financially dumb for far too long. I thought that I’d be getting back into taking and editing photos this year, but the first quarter of the year is nearly over and I’ve not taken a single shot with my old DSLR.
Wordle: four, my starter was OILER
Trying to figure out what green I can wear today. Most of my green is in the form of short-sleeved t-shirts which obviously won’t be my outer layer today… brrrrrrrrrrr
Adobe plan, $9.95/month (PS, LR).
What is that, one beer?
73 de JG/HamWithCam
BTW:
(Coke) Vender = “equipment”
(Coke) Vendor = “operator”
My plan was $14.99/month, nearly two beers at a bar, without tip.
Conservatively I don’t think I’ve launched Lightroom or Photoshop in six years, or 72 months, so I’ve given Adobe $1,079.28 for nothing. That’s a lot of beer.
And I’m sure Adobe will allow me to resubscribe if the need permits.
I’ve stopped giving Adobe $15/month; in May I will stop giving Disney $25/month, so that’s $40/month. By the end of this year I will keep $280 of my money. Before my birthday I will cancel my Audible account, that’s $150.
Compared to what I will fork over for my new roof this week it’s a pittance. But as I have no real income, pittances can be priceless.
Wordle in 6 and it was about to get ugly!
All burnt lightbulbs in the new truck have been replaced. It took trips to 2 different auto parts places. Not because the first was out of stock, but we couldn’t figure out what the bulb was, as I couldn’t get it loose from the outlet!
35 hard minutes on the trainer last night. 2 days in a row means I’m taking it easy today.
Barb, figure out when you want to come ride silk sheets and we’ll make a plan.

Shit. I grabbed one of my warmest sweaters to wear today without thinking about it, and it is green. I wish I could go home and change.
Sushi as usual last night followed by an episode of TAR. We are still on the season of all Big Brother contestants. Down to 6 teams but it was a non-elimination leg.
My car said 29 degrees this morning. I got out my winter coat.
So you didn’t want to follow a St. Patrick Day tradition of wearing green?
I don’t like to seem as though I am celebrating anything. Happy for others to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, but I find it to be a fake holiday.
but your last name is O’Sullivan – I think you are required to wear green 😉
It’s the law! 🙂
Heh, it just dawned on me that I pretty much don’t celebrate any holiday, of any kind. LOL!
wordle in 4 – but it could have been 3!
did nothing yesterday except work – been watching this pretty unbelievable show called The Hunting Party. But – its entertaining sometimes
HVAC spring check up was supposed to be today, but they cancelled – I guess they don’t want to run the AC when it’s so cold out? Not like it’s a huge rush……
We’ve already tested the AC! Just not today.
Debbie thought Minnie Pearl might be under the weather last night when she fed them dinner. She went out looking for her at 11 last night and she seemed OK. I went out first thing this morning and she was standing in the run in, enjoying the first rays of sunshine and took a treat, so I think she’s OK.
oh, we’ve had our AC on already as well -but I pay for a service contract, so they come & check it all out twice a year
Mine is scheduled for some time in April, I think.
I watched the movie Weapons last night, holy shit what a crazy ride that was! I had some fun dreams!
My house is finally starting to heal, I’m at about 98%. No more coughing fits and foot is almost back to normal. Laura is about a day or so away from being able to sleep in a bed (she has been on the couch so can sit up to sleep, otherwise has major coughing fits). Travis being a teenager is recovering quickly, sounds much better and is getting back to normal. I’m guessing we should be back to almost full strength by this weekend.
Speaking of this weekend, weather looks awesome! I see a lot of time on 2 wheels ahead of me 🙂
Weapons in on Max – right? so I won’t see it anytime soon. It does look pretty good.
We watched BUGONIA a couple days ago (on Peacock) speaking of weird movies. Not quite as crazy as POOR THINGS, but it was still up there – Emma Stone just likes to do weird stuff.
Yeah, it’s on Max. It is worth the watch, I am critical of movies since just about every movie is a remake of another movie. This one was unique so I really liked it.
I’ll have to check out Bugonia
I will be riding outside this weekend, where and when I do not know.
Whenever we are ready to buy a new mattress, I want to get an adjustable one. I like to sleep at a slight angle.
Get a Sleep Number bed, it will change your life 🙂
Roofing materials have arrived. Work tomorrow. Shit is getting real…
Glad I remembered to move the car out of the carport, onto the street.
New roof, the most adulting thing you can do 🙁 Spend all that money and have nothing to play with
I mighta just laughed out loud. Truth.
I just made my brunch meal — grilled pimento cheese sandwich with pickles. I baked the bread. I made the pimento cheese. I should have used the pickles I made which are in the refrigerator.
SANDWICH SOUNDS GOOD – (WITHOUT THE PICKLES)
OMG, that sounds soooooooo good – with the pickes!
It was delicious, and rather filling.
