Coffee at Publix was $15.49 for a 12-ounce bag; the only reason I bought it was because it was BOGO, which in Florida means I had to get two bags. That my friends, fucking ridiculous. When I run out of the back stock of coffee I currently possess, I am going to see how I feel when I don’t drink it. I will switch to tea, because I refuse to pay these ridiculous prices.

Traffic in Orlando is horrible.

Wordle: ???, my starter was HABIT. Like yesterday, I will be playing later.

Since I don’t drink coffee – how many pots/cups do you get from a 12 oz bag.
I realize the prices have gone up (of course they have -its all Joe Bidens fault, LOL) – but is it really that expensive? I know Starbucks, etc., is crazy priced.

    • I’ve never done the math to determine how much coffee is made with one bag. I believe the price has doubled in the past year, and this may also be the second round of shrinkflation. Used to be coffee was bought by the pound, then the bags contained 14-oz, now they all seem to have twelve.

You can’t judge using the price at Starbucks, much like you can’t judge the price of alcohol based on how much is charged at bars.

      • Barb says:

oh – not judging the price at home vs out, was just wondering – is coffee really that expensive to make at home?
        Is tea that much cheaper?
I drink water in the mornings, or OJ or milk occasionally.

And – Sodas – the price of a 12 pack of Coke is crazy now too – 5 years ago when I was buying for our office fridge – $3/12 pack was a good sale price. Now – on sale its atleast $6/12 pack. (I will spluge though, I like a soda at lunch time)

    Wordle in 5.

All repairs are completed and the LQ is ready to roll. I also forgot to bleed the system before cutting off the pipe and put water everywhere. Debbie was nearby and was able to cut the pump off while I played the roll of putting my finger in the dike.

Off to breakfast and a Costco run. Rumor is fish fry for happy hour tomorrow. A definite maybe and may try and drag Debbie.

Orlando traffic does really suck, avoid I-4 at all cost. The toll roads are worth the money.

With our new fancy coffee maker I signed up for a coffee service called Bottomless. They send you a scale that connects to WiFi and when your coffee beans get low they send you another bag. You choose the region you want your beans from and they are fresh roasted when you order and sent right away. We should get our first bag in the next day or so, I’ll report back on the quality of coffee.

I love good coffee but I’ll drink almost anything (except really cheap like Folgers, sorry Steve!). We used to get the Kirkland brand from Costco but Kevin reports that they only sell whole bean and they took out their coffee bean grinders. I like good coffee but I’m not grinding my beans every time. I only drink one cup a day due to my love/hate relationship with caffeine.

Had ground beef and some potatoes that were already sprouting so I made shepherd’s pie for dinner last night, which was a big hit.

    • Barb says:

can never go wrong with some Shepherd’s Pie.
I still have 2 potatoes, I was going to do something with tonight – but now we may be meeting friends out at The Wing tonight.
There’s always tomorrow, unless we go to the fish fry

I just noticed that we are 900 years in the future! And I don’t feel a day older…
