Yesterday I went online to pay my Georgia Power bill and someone curious happened. When I went to pay using ApplePay, as I believe I’ve done in the past, the account to which I was going to send the money alarmed me. The account had an iCloud.com suffix, which seems sketchy for a multi-state behemoth such as Southern Company, the parent of Georgia Power. Therefore instead of paying with ApplePay, I started the process again and paid using a credit card.
I have found a band for whom I am willing to exceed my self-imposed concert ticket price limit. The band is Sugar, who will be playing at The Eastern (walkable from/to the ITP Estate?) on Friday, October 23rd. The ticket face value is $42, but there was also a $14 “service charge”, $2 “facility charge”, and a bullshit $2 forced “charitable donation”, making the total price $59. I have been a fan of Sugar’s founder, Bob Mould, since the 1980s, have seen him perform solo many times and as a member of Sugar once in November 1994 (previously mentioned as the night I should have died driving back to Huntsville). Given that I initially thought that they were only playing Athens, for which I would also need a $100 accommodation, I decided to spend the money.
In the past two weeks Wordle’s solution has started with a C five times. What fucking C-word was Wordle’s solution today?
Wordle: three, my starter was ANISE
does the Eastern have a ticket office at all?
I’d have gone by there just to see if there is a way to buy tickets without all the extra charges. I mean – it isn’t that far away.
They did when they opened a few years ago, not sure now. I probably would only save the !14 service charge, which would be nice, but there is no guarantee these days. I’ve already pulled the trigger so it’s a moot point at the moment.
OMG – wordle in 3 – hoe I got it – I have no idea.
Sold my leather coat on marketplace last night -finally figured out a meet up with my buyer.
I more thing gone that I never wear, but it was too nice to donate.
Well done on both fronts!
I have identified more things that I can give away/get rid of. Yesterday I was tidying our storage shelves and saw our two picnic blankets sitting there which we have not used in 10 years, and there is no way I’m ever going on a picnic again. So those are going up on the Buy Nothing page.
picnic blankets – I do not have those – but do have a picnic basket that has never, ever been used.
Maybe I’ll try to sell that (though should have done it before Christmas – but maybe I’ll mention Valentine’s Day)
Yeah, I bet someone would spend money on a picnic basket. They will buy it and use it once. LOL!

Last night we watched an episode of the Great British Baking Show. I’m sure everyone saw the announcement that Prue Leith is leaving the show? When they asked her why, she said, “I’m 86, for goodness sake!” Brava!
Debbie had a similar reaction.
Had not heard the news. Thought I had gotten up to date with the illegal uploads I watched a month or so ago. I guess I’m now falling a season behind again…
I’m sure you are up to date. They haven’t even found her replacement yet, let alone filmed a new season.
Spoiler alert – Red Bull wins by 4 seconds over Movistar
Wordle in 3.
Great day at the zoo. Not crowded, most all the animals were active and out, again docent volunteers had great info. Saw everything we wanted and took our time. Was there from gate open to damn near closing time.
After all that walking Debbie was beat so I walked over to the nearby sushi place and brought home dinner. Very good choice.
Today is whale watching. I’ll be getting a car so we can get there and to the safari park tomorrow. With hotel parking at $40 a day, we decided to be selective.
