If I were a bottle collector I would have been in heaven Saturday. During our forest cleanup we extracted many old bottles, cans, and debris. The only downside of Saturday was learning that the part of the saved forest that I assumed was parking for the area is actually still zoned and slated for housing. Someday fifteen (my guess) townhouses will be shoehorned into that small cul-du-sac.

Pretty proud of myself for overcoming malaise and audio/video issues yesterday and riding the trainer for an hour. It was my first effort since getting sick a week ago.

The predicted temperatures for this week make it appear as if I will get a lot more opportunities for trainer riding as well as indoor choring.

Wordle: four, my starter was WAGER. Wordle continues to aggravate me.

    Wordle in 4.

Busy weekend for obvious and not reasons. Saturday early, we decided to get George looked at. He had been vomiting and not really interested in food. A trip to the Auburn emergency vet. We were there early, but timing was poor as we had to wait for rounds to be completed. I think we were there by 8 and didn’t get out until 2. No blockages, so just an upset stomach.

Moved the LQ into a more usable position and worked a bit on the water pump. Will delve further into that when we’re back from San Diego.

A very light trainer workout yesterday as the rear tire needed air and I only realized it after I was on.

  2. Glad to see no ice on the branches this morning. Things weren’t bad here at the ITP Estate, with only a few small branches dropping from trees; no power outages either!

I’m currently waiting for bread dough to proof. A cold house makes this slower, even though it’s sitting inside an oven with its pilot light ignited (it’s actually always on since this oven is from the mid 1950s).

I watched various sources all day yesterday ( ga power and 511ga ) and it was interesting. Pretty much as predicted- moved north from original estimates and seemed pretty sketchy from Roswell up.

      Bob, how did y’all fare?

  3. Jenka says:

No ice on branches here that I can see, and the roads look clear. It rained all day yesterday but it was still upwards of 40 degrees for hours after it stopped. Emory is remote today, but I’m sure we’ll be in person tomorrow.

Saturday morning we went for late breakfast at the General Muir and then went home to watch movies all day until bedtime. Yesterday was a true pajama day. I made pigs in blankets and a righteous plate of nachos which Finn devoured. Patriots are going to the Super Bowl!

Lazy day yesterday, I did absolutely nothing. Lots of rain and ice but no issues with power or falling branches. I was supposed to meet with a buyer for my motorcycle but I’m guessing with the storm he didn’t want to venture out. He has gone dark on facebook so I don’t even know if he is still interested. I hate selling stuff online.
Kitchen is going well, upper cabinets are in and lowers are getting worked on today. Countertop installers coming tomorrow to measure and make a template. I think it will be a week to have them cut then installed.
Looking forward to having a kitchen and not cooking in the garage!

    wordle in 4 as well.

Saturday we did a little out & about shopping – realized we didn’t have enough ground beef in the freezer to make the chili. Our freezer is quite full – how did that happen? Sam’s scan & go to the rescue.

Had 2 “smaller” trees taken down Saturday morning – yes – we now have more firewood to split someday.
Went to a stamp show over at as I call it Steve’s Hilton in Peachtree Corners. Didn’t get any easy answers on the stamp collection – was told to try to organize it a little better & come to the next show in either Stone Mtn (March) or Roswell (April)
There were LOTS of stamps from the 60s & 70s that are still valid postage – so next year’s Christmas cards will have 5, 6, 8, 10, 13 cent stamps covering up the envelope.

Sunday – did almost nothing – convinced myself to go for a little walk before the rain started -screwed that up, got poured on for the last 1.2 mile

    • Steve says:

Before you go burning stamps at face value, go ahead and get them appraised! What’s worth 5 or 6 cents to you might be worth a bit more to a collector. Not sure if something that “new” would have MUCH value above face, but you never know.

      • Barb says:

probably not Steve – the stamp market is disappearing – very few people care.
BUT – if you want a project – I will commission you do go thru all this – I have no patience for this sort of thing

  6. I’ve already exceeded my maximum frustration level with my basement A/V setup this morning. Shit used to work flawlessly for years, but not mysteriously doesn’t. Can’t deal with this today.

    • And it goes without saying, my A/V setup is a vital component of my exercise routine. It’s the only way that I can distract myself for an hour while I ride the trainer.

      • Steve says:

I’ve been using Rouvy for my training while listening to Spotify on free trial for another month. The workouts are tougher (to me) so I have the intensity dialed back. The scenery doesn’t really need a distraction, but I suppose if I go for a long ride, a movie would be useful.

        • Watching “Stop Making Sense” yesterday went well. I find the movie and music entertaining and it helped pass the time.

          Yesterday I had audio problems.
This morning I couldn’t get any video onto the screen.

Regardless of what I watch, I need functioning audio and video in the basement to ride the trainer. It used to work without fail, which is why I’m flummoxed as to why it stopped working.

  7. Morning dedicated to bread baking is over; I baked a rectangular sandwich loaf. Loaf looks a little dark, and I won’t know how successful I am until it cools off and I can cut into it.

Now to start getting some other chores done…

    • Jenka says:

Saturday as we were leaving TGM we stopped in their bakery section and got a huge loaf of French country bread. We’ve been snacking on that for two days and it is delightful. Now if only I had a toaster oven…

  8. Apparently I need to practice my vacuum sealing. My efforts to vacuum seal some chicken breasts for the freezer didn’t go exceptionally well.

  9. Attempting to lose weight is going to kill me. I’ve eaten a sufficiently portioned lunch, but all I can do is think about food…

  10. May have sorted out A/V situation, which is good because I will mount the trainer at 2pm.

I can get audio and video via AppleTV. Attempts at ensuring the same is true for Roku and PS3 will have to wait until later.
