Not knowing what the weather will be like this weekend makes it difficult to plan.
I need to gas up the M6 today, probably should have done that yesterday. If there is milk left at Kroger I may buy some of that as well.
Wordle: three, my starter was TRIBE
we are going to try to get gas (in both cars) from Kroger today – and get a few things from the store.
My ghetto Kroger was fairly low on milk, but all other basics were in decent supply. Unfortunately for my they were out of stock of my favorite Arizona iced tea, which I have a coupon to get a free gallon, so that was the only thing I missed out of this morning.
this Microsoft slow down may still a little annoying this morning – I can’t figure out if no one is working, or if it still slow.
I gassed up this morning on my way to work. And Kevin is going to the store today once I decide if I want to make nachos or shepherd’s pie this weekend. I’m leaning towards nachos because we still have soooo much cassoulet left over. I’m having it for lunch today for the fourth day in a row.
We are just planning not to leave the house all weekend, and hoping we don’t lose power. We made a list of movies to watch.
It’s looking unlikely that Trees Atlanta will cancel tomorrow’s project. However, it’s three blocks from the ITP Estate so I will hoof it there if they don’t.
What I do Saturday night, Sunday, and into next week is all dependent on electricity status.
National Weather Service says the rain isn’t supposed to start until “after 1:00 pm.” So I think you’re fine for Trees Atlanta. Might be chilly, though.
Yeah, saw that. Chilly is fine since I will be performing manual labor, which with my BMI keeps me really warm.
M6 filled with gas, using my 70¢/gal discount. Woot!
Secured milk and other necessities, I’m ready to be iced in (with electricity) for weeks!
Debating walking up to Batteries+ this afternoon to spend $40 for a UPS battery replacement. The old battery went tits up a couple of weeks ago, but this time I couldn’t get the UPS to stop whining about it without pulling the plug entirely.
And along the battery lines I looked on Amazon for a cheaper option – none found.
I’m about a week away from completing “Amazon Free January”. I do have a few things in my cart, but am waiting to conclude that they are absolutely essential before pulling the trigger.
Wordle in 4.
Will gas all the vehicles and cans today. I’m also about out of diesel for the tractor, so it’s good timing.
We went to do a simple thing at Wells Fargo yesterday- add Debbie to my WF account. Not quite so simple and still lots of forms to sign- seems kinda silly.
I think we had an inch of rain yesterday. We appear to be below the freeze line, so we shall see. No word from Delta on free changes to reservations- yet.

One of my favorite bands, Chatham County Line, is playing Eddie’s Attic tonight. Though the ticket price is in my acceptable range, I don’t know if I want to venture out tonight.
just do it – you will have fun. Uber or Lyft – and save the aggravation of parking.
Or MARTA is smarta. You can do it!
We’ll see. Been up since 0530 so I will have to see how tired I am later as well…
This is what keeps me from a lot of things these days, I get so tired. Yesterday we bought tickets for Tori Amos at Symphony Hall, and the show is at 8:00 pm on a Saturday night. There’s no way I will last through the whole thing!
Allan said Kroger was VERY picked over – I guess they don’t have the stockers working all night – or they have nothing to fill shelves.
But- he found some shrimp on sale, so we are having shrimp & grits tonight.
and at 695 for fuel points – we have time to get above 700 this month
Just checked, I’m at 854 fuel points for this month. Woot! I will be able to run the M6 dry and fill it up prior to escaping for a trip to Florida next month.
Crockpot is filled with a recipe — “Coconut Milk Chicken Breasts” — that I saw in a virtual book that I have downloaded to my Kindle; failed to notice the recipe calls for bone-in chicken breasts. I chose to make it today since I’m (fairly) confident I won’t lose power during the next eight hours. I live in the City of Atlanta, so there’s never 100% certainty.
Also, I now have too many chicken breasts on hand. I think I will attempt to vacuum seal some and freeze them.
it will be fine I’m sure with boneless chicken
Agreed, which is why I am making it.
Well, one thing which may help is that there is a tree service cutting limbs over power lines.
