As if more proof was needed to say that people aren’t drinking as much these days, I received an email yesterday from Atlanta Wine Festivals canceling their New Year’s Eve festivities due to poor ticket sales. Of course, it could have been way overpriced as well…

Last night’s jambalaya dinner was a success, though that was not a surprise.

  1. The Falcons won again last night? I suppose I could have watched the game over the-air on ABC, but I’m sure the numerous amount of commercial breaks would have aggravated me.

it was a crazy game – the Falcons were way ahead, but then being the Falcons, almost let the Rams win. I really thought they’d lose…….. but they pulled it off.

And – commercials are just a way of life with watching live sports (I know, not soccer)

      • If I’m in a bar, or if I were with others, they wouldn’t bother me nearly as much. However if I’m alone and want to watch the sport, they annoy the shit out of me. Peacock splatters some advertising on the screen during soccer matches; I just try to ignore them.

The older I get the less I care about sports. Therefore let the channels/streamers do their worst (and they will) because I doubt I will be watching.

  2. Used the frigid temperatures this morning to crank up the oven. I failed to prepare a load of dough for a loaf of bread, so, after baking a pan of bacon I made a batch of biscuits.

  3. Today I’m trying to learn how to properly prepare my banneton (proofing basket) in order to bake better loaves of bread.

Work was way too busy & stressful yesterday.
Finally got done – so we went to the start of the Monday night hash, which was at our favorite nearby Mexican restaurant.
I wasn’t in the mood to do trail, so we ate & had margaritas while they all did trail (which everyone enjoyed) & socialized for a few minutes when they got back.

Came home & watched the Falcons – they were not acting like the Falcons in the 1st half, it was kind of fun to watch.

Wordle in 4 and 3 was all the letters in the wrong places! A first, I think.

We finished off “The Big C” last night. Thoughtful, funny, sad, I cried.

I got my Garmin watch to pay attention to the trainer as I did one of the ROUVY training rides. I was annoyed it was rated as “easy”. F’ers. I thought it was medium.

While we were out with the fam on Sunday, we stopped at a horse breeders farm in Concord and might be purchasing one of his Percheron crosses. Basically a baby- not even halter broke. stay tuned.

  6. In resorting my CD collection I found some CDs/DVDs with photos on them, according to the label. I wonder if I have a drive, or old computer, via which I can see them?

  7. A couple of weeks ago I watched a YouTube video where the women used boxes of cake mix to make things other than straight up cakes. In one segment she made cookies. In Kroger last week I saw that the Dolly Parton banana cake mix was on closeout. Yesterday I made a batch of banana cookies, to which I added walnuts. 😀

and I’m getting better at pips

  9. Just ate a large bowl of Paulie’s “Brunswick” stew for lunch. This will force me down into the basement to ride the trainer in a few hours, but at least I can watch another episode of “Celebrity Traitors” while I’m on it.

    Dang – its cold out.
Went & got a Jersey Mike’s sub & to Aldi for some salad fixins.
