When Wee Little Bit was a wee lad his parents took him to get his picture taken with Santa at North Pole, New York. I know, because somewhere I have a phot of me crying on Santa’s lap.

Wordle in 5. Had only one letter in 3.
Some of the metal is on the roof. Depending on the moisture today, I may be able to get back up and finish that part. Then only a couple other little tasks.
Signed up for Rouvy last night. It communicates with my Garmin, so the effort is registered, but the heart rate isn’t sent. I guess my heart rate strap will have to do. Their deal is real (scenic) roads, not imaginary worlds. I was riding in Monument Valley with 2 riders ahead of me when we came to a stop sign. Of course, no need to stop, but then a pickup towing a 5th wheel went through the intersection! Got MY attention!
Hopefully the rain holds off.

and why aren’t you posting that picture of you & Santa?
I don’t know where it is.
Kevin went to undergrad in Potsdam which is not far from North Pole and his sister went to Plattsburgh which is like 30 minutes from there. It is way the hell up there. Like Barb, I would also like to see the pic!
I made a delicious chicken with rice and leeks in my dutch oven last night which was wonderfully brothy and felt very winter-rustic. The recipe calls for orzo rather than rice, which I prefer, but our guest is gluten free.
Absolutely zero traffic this morning, I thought Paideia might be closed but the traffic cops were out and kids were crossing the street. Not complaining!
Plattsburgh, I have a customer that ships out of that town…..
Interesting! It’s right on Lake Champlain so it probably has access to the canal.
These go on an intermodal train in Albany out to CA
The rmaining final exams in the high school are today and tomorrow, Christmas break starts on Monday. Wordle in 5.
Yeah, I have their academic calendar bookmarked so I looked it up and it looks like they are in session through tomorrow, but it makes more sense when I know that it’s just students who have final exams.
Allan was out chainsawing the smaller trees out back – now they are all in a big pile, once they die – we can burn them down to nothing
We may get whammed at lunch. We’re at Arby’s way too much Christmas music here.
By the way do you guys know that simply having a wonderful Christmas time by Paul McCartney is really a witchcraft song? (This is per Allan)
Now I really want Arby’s.
it was tasty – beef & cheddar today.
And – we did NOT get Whammed!
Heard every other annoying Christmas song though.
Oh, not me. I’m not one for fast food anyway (don’t think it’s worth the price), but I have avoided Arby’s for over twenty years now due to their lack of quality, plastic looking, “roast beef”.
we had coupons…..
but sure, its not as good as real roast beef, but it sounded good today.
Yeah, that beef with the cheddar sauce is so damn good. I wouldn’t call it “food,” but I *would* call it “tasty.”
Red-winged blackbirds must be migrating, because there are a lot of them stopping at WLF for water.
I haven’t seen any – we used to have plenty of those birds in Iowa
