I’m giving up on my dreams to grow pawpaw trees in Wee Little Farm. It appears that the four trees that I planted in WLF are dead/dying, this after one earlier planting bit the dust. Apparently my soil is just not what these trees want.

Footings are poured and fittings to hold the beams to the footings are in place. While the spot is relatively flat, it still took a bit of magic to get everything level and I think I came close. I sent the materials list to the 2 local lumber yards and have heard back from one already this morning. Maybe I’ll have lumber by next week.
Shortly, I’ll head to lunch with a friend in Booford, then onward to the X race in Hendersonville. Hoping the weather holds.
As Thanksgiving rolls around, I’m thankful for you, Paulie! Thankful for your friendship and for the space you provide for all of us to chat. It is a simple pleasure I take great comfort in.

Everybody needs a break sometimes. You do you! I am working Monday through Wednesday next week because many of the staff want to take vacation so I keep the office open. I have a big deadline in early December so I have to work anyway. I take a lot of vacation during the summer.
Welp, the locksmith never made it to the cabin yesterday, they said they would send someone today. I shan’t hold my breath. So we are staying home this weekend and our main activity is going to be a big grocery shop tomorrow.

We need to get the 2 turkeys -and who knows what else today.
My grocery list is intimidatingly long.
I’m just the opposite, I have too much food so will be avoiding grocery stores for a couple of weeks, at least.
