One of the pumpkins that I retrieved last week from Barb’s neighborhood had an unusual characteristic. When I cracked it open, it has strands inside which were the thickness and consistency of cooked spaghetti. Shame on me for not being adventurous enough to taste it, nor to think that I should save the seeds in case it proved to be a beneficial crossbreed.

Last night’s dinner was really good. Because I’d eaten a lot of chicken at lunch, I ate bibimbap instead of the renowned fried chicken.

Wordle: FAIL, my starter was AFOUL

  1. Now that it’s been out and had a point update, I’m making the transition to the version 26s of Apple’s operating systems — iOS, iPadOS, MacOS (Tahoe). I will have to update an Apple Watch when a new one is purchased.

  2. Barb says:

my IOS is 18. whatever . What is 26?

    Wordle in 4.

I’m still on an 18 version and the latest didn’t seem like anything I could really use, so I’ll just drag my feet into the future.

Footings done. I was going to make concrete today, but the ceilings seem really low. Hopefully skies will clear. At one point, I buried the auger and the tractor decided that would be the perfect time to have the battery fail completely. New battery now installed.

I’ve never had Gaja, mostly because I don’t get down to EAV very often. I do love Korean fried chicken.

I had my therapist after work and then I met Sarah at Ziba’s. We had been talking last week about how we haven’t been to Ziba’s in years. It was great! Plenty of people in there but not crowded. Good vibe. I got a pasta dish and it was SO HUGE. I ate my fill and it looked like I hadn’t even touched it. The take out container was heavy as a brick. Definitely good value for the money.

Can’t remember if I mentioned that the combo lock on the cabin failed. It is the only access into the house except for an old garage door, the only key for which lives on Kevin’s keychain. We called a locksmith and they are supposed to go out this afternoon. If he gets it open we’ll go up there this weekend.

Jenka – I’ve been told Roo Vineyard is the new winery to go to just a little north of Ellijay.
(that is from JoAnna, she really likes the place)

10 mile bike ride this morning on the Beltline. It’s part of my new “moob yer azz” program. Debbie’s ex-husband was Iraqi and I have adopted his pronounciation.

I called some bad behavior on my brother’s part yesterday, and he didn’t take it well. This setting boundaries shit with people definitely isn’t for the faint of heart. With that said, my divorce harded the fuck out of me, and I refuse to abide bad behavior, especially from anyone close to me. After not responding for about 18 hours, he replied that he’s going to sit with this for a couple of days.

On a much better front, Debbie and I have been dating for 18 months now. Time flies when you’re having fun!

    • Steve says:

Congratulations to you both! As far as setting boundaries, you have to protect yourself above all else. He’ll get it, or he won’t.

    • Barb says:

Its always fun to deal with siblings – I hope it all works out, as I know you’ve enjoyed having him around more.

And – 18 month with Debbie – I know you are doing something to celebrate that. 😉

wordle in 6 – that took a while

  8. Shortened my walk today because I couldn’t be bothered. Was going to stop at Midway Pub for a beer until I realized how shabby the clothes I am wearing look.
