The busy long weekend was spent in Asheville and Raleigh.

After stopping at an apple orchard in north Georgia to buy some apples, I kicked around Asheville Thursday drinking beer and eating food.

I hung out with the Raleigh Royalty, mostly with the king and queen as the elder prince is away at college and the younger prince is too old and busy to be bothered. We went to some breweries, the NC State Fair, the NC Farmers Market, and watched the Packers beat the Steelers.

Though it made my journey more difficult, I welcomed the rain through which I drove all day yesterday.

Just out of professional curiosity, which university is the elder prince at now?

Loooooong day at work yesterday, very very busy these days. We didn’t make it to sushi until like 7:30, which is really late. I watched some MNF but I was in bed with the light off before 10.

I am wearing a wool sweater! In October!

    Wordle in 6!

The rain was an excuse to finally get the old scooter back in service. I had bought a battery some weeks ago but haven’t had the time to swap it out. I also had an old desk which was just a catch all for stuff and it is now one short drive away from the dump. I’m still trying to rearrange the shop with some new shelves and give Debbie access to her hay (Heeeyy) and have room to park both scooters.

I finally broke down and turned on the furnace.

    • The furnace turned itself on, as it should, when the temperature in the ITP Estate dipped below 65°F.

Kevin turned on the heat several days ago. If it were just me I would put on a sweater, but he is a sissy missy.

      • Barb says:

I had to turn my heat on, as we still had it on AC.
The fall checkup for the HVAC is tomorrow, they usually have to turn the heat on to make sure it is ready for winter. I have saved them some time .

        • Jenka says:

What did you end up making for dinner with the turkey stock?

          • Barb says:

            white chicken chili.
I’m trying to figure out what to make next. We have way too much in the freezer, that I just haven’t thought to use.

But – we leave for New Orleans Thursday for a long weekend, so that will be next week’s project.

  4. When the weather once again dries out it will be time for me to start ripping out summer crops from WLF. There will neither be enough heat nor light for these plants to flourish.

    wordle – FAIL !!!
too many choices of 1st letter.

work was way too busy yesterday – so we didn’t do much last night.

Today I need to figure out what I need to take for a hashing weekend in New Orleans – I don’t think the trails we picked will have much shiggy, but I need to be prepared, just in case.

meeting a friend at Waffle House for lunch – I go to the fancy places

I’m happy you had fun with the Raleigh Royalty over the weekend, I’m assuming all is well. I have not seen them in quite a while, and if you are lurking HI!

What a dreary day yesterday, I am SO not ready for winter. I’m already cold and ready to hibernate.
I had a good weekend though with a long motorcycle ride in the mountains on Saturday and bumping in to an old friend at a brewery north of Dawsonville. Sunday did a mountain bike ride then didn’t leave the house the rest of the day. I also decided to push my week long moto trip out to late spring or early summer. As I was arranging places to stay a few of them close for the season so will not be open. Lack of places to stay and cold temps convinced me to move the date.
Laura killed it training for her 50 miler, she did 26 miles on Saturday and 17 on Sunday. She finally gets to start tapering then it is game on November 17th.
