Yesterday must have been the day for just missing out.
In addition to the one disc missing from the set of twelve that I mentioned yesterday, I also nearly bought a dvd set containing Jaws, Jaws 2, and Jaws 3, but as you might of guessed, one of those discs was also missing, and it was Jaws, so I passed.
I’ve been informed by ITP-Reader John, aka HamWithCam, that he sold his Honda Element, aka Toaster, before seeing ITP-Reader David’s, aka Lurker, request. David, the upside is that although meticulously cared for, this Element was old, and had a manual transmission which would need a new clutch soon.
Have a happy weekend all.
Wordle: disappointing five, my starter was TRIAL
1st!
We did something new to us – went to a show at the Center for Puppetry Arts last night. the Ghastly Dreadfuls was a fun show & not crazy expensive. JoAnna & Sally joined us, so it was their October birthdays outing. The Jim Henson & Muppets exhibit was very interesting (brought back a lot of memories), as was the other exhibit about the history of puppets all over the world.
We had a drink & some apps at the Canopy (by Hilton) a block away. They were actually pretty good, the waitress was great, and I wonder how long she can afford to work there, as it wasn’t busy at all.
Wordle in 6!
Apparently, Nod has returned to woo Minnie Pearl again. We thought the fence had been repaired as we have only heard his mournful braying, but true love won’t be denied I suppose.
The TV in the LQ does work. Apparently the 12V converter was toast. I watched a YouTube video on repair of a similar model and the guy found blown fuses inside- easy peasy. Crack it open and find 3 fuses soldered to the board! And all in good shape. No easy fix for me. Another $100 down the drain.

Didn’t everyone from our generation learn how to drive on a stick? How is that an impediment? That said, I highly doubt that a 16 year old boy would have wanted to drive a toaster around. He probably would’ve vetoed it.
I had my therapist yesterday after work and didn’t get home until almost 7:00, grabbed Kevin, and headed to Wisteria for a quick dinner. Another couple we know just from bumping into them around town were there so we got sucked into a conversation with them. I was so wiped I wasn’t really able to hold up my end. Then we watched another episode of The Diplomat.
This weekend we are going to bring a trunk full of shit to Goodwill.
I’ve got like a thing on my eyelid, it started with inflammation of the eyelid and now it’s just a painful red bump. It doesn’t look fantastic but it’s slowly healing.
Oh no, you got one of Paulie’s diseases! You’re DOOMED!
Well, this 16 year old boy in question wants to be able to truck his bike around to the Silver Comet and such, so the toaster would have worked out well. His sister has an HR-V, and the Element feels like more of a dude car. I was just trying to grab some low-hanging fruit if I could. It would have been a “for now” no matter what.
Nope
Thank you for relaying the message, Paulie! I don’t drive my car much unless I’m driving out to Marietta to see my Debbie, so my son and I are sharing a car for now, but I’m keeping an eye out for opportunities.
I have successfully nurtured a human being into adulthood, my daughter is 18 today. We’re in Chicago for a quick jaunt. Getting into O’Hare wasn’t bad. Getting out of O’Hare tomorrow is a whole other kettle of fish.
shouldn’t she be in school? 😉
what a fun dad you are
School schmool, she’s turning 18!! A trip to the Windy City sounds much more fun than sitting in school!
Of course I’m old enough to have been of legal drinking age at 18! MY Debbie was at Georgia while they were raising the drinking age and had friends that were legal for a few days a year each year- just before they raised it another year.
Hear, hear, Steve! She only turns 18 once! And thanks, Barb. 🙂 I do my best.
Congrats!
