My first crack at pizza from scratch was good, not great. I think that I need to learn how to stretch dough better, and bake it on the stone in my oven instead of a pan. The latter is because I don’t own a pizza peel.

I can’t find the blog post where I predicted it, but Atlanta United fired their head coach yesterday.

Wordle: four, my starter was TRADE

    Wordle in 3.

Exhausted from the weekend and there’s still one more day to put it all back in the box. Except for the little bit of rain on Sunday, it was a pretty good weekend. Not great crowds but adequate. We think the gate on Saturday was elevated by the rain possibilities on Sunday.

Finally broke for pizza last night at 9 o’clock. The park was late, getting us our driver for our big truck that we rent from them so that was an hour delay that we didn’t really need.

It will be interesting to see you this morning in the daylight how much is still out there to pack.

Barb, I hope rhe hash went well.

    • Well done with Wordle. It was another frustrating four for me. Today’s solution was another from my starter word list that I didn’t select at the right time.

WLF could have used a lot more rain yesterday, but I will take what I can. At least it stopped in time for the L5P Halloween Parade. I wish I had more energy these days because I was done with being out after the parade and went home early.

      • Barb says:

so you did go to the parade? was there a big crowd at brunch?
look at you being social 2 days in a row.

        • I made it to the parade, and one band afterward. There was one more band I wanted to see, but couldn’t be bothered to wait.

Might have been twelve or so at brunch, mostly hashers I didn’t know. I brought a bottle of prosecco, OJ, and a loaf of bread that I baked yesterday morning.

          • Jenka says:

Was brunch at someone’s house in Candler Park? Nosy neighbor over here!

          • Sort of, an apartment on Euclid not far from Mary Lin Elementary We brunched and then lugged beer to the parade. Fortunately, we watched the parade from Star Bar side of Moreland, so we remained in the shade for the duration of the parade.

  2. I need to do a lot of chores, mostly physical labor, but my body is being a right bitch today so I’m not sure that I can overcome the pain.

    busy, busy weekend.
Friday night went out with Kristina (who was in Marietta to get some contacts – and 75 was shut down for a suspicious package)- drinks at the American Legion & then Mexican food.

Saturday Benny Bash was fun- just under 30 miles round trip on the Roswell/Alpharetta Greenway to Halcyon – Cherry Street Brewery for a mid ride beer stop. Then food & drinks back at Hunter’s house.

Sunday – earlier morning rain wasn’t too bad, got out to lay trail a little before 10, got it done in time for the hash. Small crowd, but that was ok. Everyone had a good time. We made chili, Cincinnati chili & hotdogs for the end. The recipe I’ve got is pretty close to Skyline.

  4. Bill N AKA Ronnie says:

If you are getting a pizza peel I suggest a thin metal peel. It’s easier to slide under the pie than a wooden peel

You did better than me, I live three blocks away from Little 5 and I didn’t even go to the parade. I could hear the bands pretty clearly, lol. Saturday we did errands in the morning, then mani-pedis, then lunch at Pure. Sunday we took Finn to his swim lesson in the morning followed by breakfast at the Majestic. Then rest of the day I spent watching football and making that chicken meatball recipe with piccata sauce again. Those things are like crack. I used green olives again instead of capers and Finn ate a huge plateful.

    • The biggest benefit of the Jets continuing to be a pile of shit is that I can give up on the NFL quickly and move onto other things.

I think in regards of sports I have whatever the opposite of the Midas Touch is, as all my teams are mediocre at best.

      • Jenka says:

Yeah, I’m convinced that the Jets’ problem is not the players or the coaching. The organization itself is just broken. I mean, the man is a complete wackjob, but Aaron Rodgers is actually a good quarterback, and they couldn’t get him to throw a completion to save his life. The entire organization needs an overhaul.

        • The Jets are lucky that the NFL doesn’t have relegation like European soccer. Atlanta United is equally lucky this year.

          • Jenka says:

Did you see the public letter from Arthur Blank on Thursday? I’m sure Bob did. Basically the gist of it was, “I know United sucked ass this year, but I promise to pour money into this situation and make this a better team.”

          • Barb says:

Uncle Arthur will try, but if it’s like the Falcons – will more money even help?

          • Jenka says:

Yes, because he leaves United alone more than he does the Falcons. Because Uncle Arthur, while at no time in his life ever having been a football expert, wants to make decisions about the Falcons instead of letting the management and coaches do that.

          • Yes, I saw that letter. It will be interesting to see how ticket sales are next year. Fighting to stay out of last place is no way to keep fans in the seats, especially in Atlanta.

  6. Note to Self: don’t go out for a long walk shortly after eating a big meal. All of the Porta-Johns on my normal route have been taken away. I barely made it to Burger King…
