I don’t follow what is happening with this country, but have learned of the government shutdown and been given a heads up about the possible implosion of the healthcare insurance industry, for those of us who pay for it ourselves. I’m concerned.

I also just learned that Jane Gooddall died last week, while I was winging my way toward Vancouver.

Though my ankle hurt I went out for a walk yesterday and apparently stumbled upon Monday night’s hash trail. I followed it for about a mile before circling home.

Woot, Friday! What a week. I have a big deadline for our re-accreditation process today. All of the documents are ready and I will just have to upload them. Glad that part’s done!

Finn’s mom is traveling next week so we switched weekends and are kid-free for another weekend. I think we are going to get mani-pedis and watch football. LOL, like we ever do anything else.

    nothing exciting going on here.
We got more rain last night.

Started watching Amazing Race last night – pros & cons of this season
Pro – its going to be all in Europe (already funny watching them try to figure out the best train to take)
Con – all people from the stupid show Big Brother.

Tonight I may go to the Marietta Square with a friend, tomorrow will be Oakhurst Porchfest (Brewery Road plays at 5pm at Ralph & Debbie’s house – I look forward to seeing their finished back yard with the pool)
Sunday – I guess we need to figure out the Wheelhopper hash for next weekend.

Oooh, I want to watch TAR. Do you watch it on Paramount+?

      • Barb says:

we still pay the big bucks for cable.

But – I know the 1st few episodes are on cbs.com, and I’m sure Paramount+ (but i don’t have paramount, so don’t hold me to that)

        • Jenka says:

We do too, but I would never know when it’s on or be able to watch it live.

Even though we pay for it we can’t get Paramount+ to work: it keeps asking us to login, we can’t remember our password, we click the link for them to send us a reset email, the email never comes. Rinse, repeat.

    Wordle in 4.

Today was the only drive in traffic and it wasn’t horrible. Trailers are relocated to their unload position and golf carts have arrived. The real work starts tomorrow. Debbie delivers my housing later this afternoon.

20 miles yesterday. A bit breezy.

  6. Back from a morning volunteering with Trees Atlanta, and saw some people I’ve not seen in a very long time. Planted two trees at Mary Lin Elementary, one with a group of fifth graders, and one with a group of fourth graders. I hope the trees survive. 😀

I wanted to eat lunch with my old friends, we were headed to Fellini’s on Ponce, but was ready to be anti-social and eat lunch at home. Also, I need to make sure to get a bicycle ready for Oakhurst Porchfest tomorrow.

    • Steve says:

      Hermit.

Doesn’t hurt to be sociable. I know you have a limit, but still.

      • David says:

Another day ITP (inside the paradox). The less we’re social, the harder it becomes to be social. Ask me how I know. Also, avoiding being social means fighting biology, because we’re an innately social species.

My son wanted Fellini’s takeout last night, and thought it was hilarious that his slice of cheese pizza was only $4. Conversely, two burgers and three drinks from Five Guys was $40. I probably should have had Fellini’s. A benefit to having a newly licensed driver is he can Door Dash for us now. 🙂 At least I get $10 back once a month from American Express if I do frequent Five Guys.

      • I spent four hours working with strangers, eight of whom were either in the fourth or fifth grade. It. Was. Exhausting.

I am trying to get back into a routine of volunteering, so I will be reacquainted with people I know, and then return to going to the “on after” for lack of a better term.

    • Jenka says:

Did they not want to go to the Fellini’s that is 4 blocks from Mary Lin?

  7. Barb says:

DANG IT IS A NICE DAY OUTSIDE –
I just went for a little 2 mile walk.

    • It is. I just prepped my “mountain” bike for a ride to/from Porchfest tomorrow. I just hope the rear tire holds enough air for the journey. I considered taking the new “bar” bike but I’m not done addressing all its issues.

Going out to Neko Case concert with Betsy and Linette tonight, so I need to reserve some energy so that I don’t fall asleep there. 🙂
