I hate to say it but I may have to experiment with avoiding spicy foods for a while. It seems that recently my body is not processing them very well, and I’ll leave it to your imagination as to what sort malady this has presented.

In other news: I saw, and thanked, Peter Buck (from REM, Minus 5, Baseball Project) at the Atlanta airport yesterday. If not for this chance encounter I wouldn’t be mentioning that I’m currently not in our country. 🙂

still having “fun” in Iowa = that’s about it

How full is the dumpster? 🙂

When I was prepping my house for sale, but the night before the dumpster went away full, I’ll always remember thinking “this could have been a moving truck.”

Hang in there, Barb, that has to be a tough job.

      • Barb says:

        NOT FULL ENOUGH!!!
HOARDER BROTHER ISN’T DOING MUCH – and we can’t touch his stuff.
Upstairs is pretty empty – besides furniture

When we were clearing out Kevin’s parents’ house, we filled up four full-sized dumpsters. Four.

    Wordle in 5.

Chores and more chores. I promised myself there will be a bike ride today!

Not in the country? Hmmm…. Canada?

  4. Jenka says:

I am assuming you’re in Canadia visiting your friend? Hope you have a nice trip!

I went to Spoon with my friend Sarah last night. On of my old neighbors from Moreland Place came in, I haven’t seen him in almost 10 years so that was nice.

Red Sox-Yankees are tied in the wild card race. Tonight’s game will decide everything.

This is definitely not my country these days, so I am a stranger in a strange land. Safe travels, Paulie.

Wordle in 2, and I had 3 greens on my first try. Not quite a homer, but definitely got me to third base.

I scored a $10 ticket to see ZZ Top in Athens Sunday night through http://www.vettix.org. It’s definitely feast or famine with regard to events on that site. I could only get one ticket, but my brother is going to the show with me. He moved from Indiana to Sugar Hill (which is cheek and jowl with Buford). They’re not a band I’d ever planned to see, but after playing a couple of their songs this morning, I’m glad I’m going. Apparently I’m going to have a Muppet Show judge seat, as I’m in the first box near the stage…ah-how, how, how…

    • Jenka says:

I’m assuming he moved to GA to be closer to you? Curious what made him choose Sugar Hill?

      • David says:

Yes, after I reclaimed my own sovereignty over myself, I circled back and helped him reclaim his. He transferred within his company to their Buford location, and found an apartment in Sugar Hill that is 1.2 miles from his job. He’s been couch surfing with me for 3 weeks, and it’s been taking him 60 to 100 minutes to get back ITP during the week. Apparently Sugar Hill is very walkable, and he has a Rreal Tacos on the first floor of his building. I’ll check it out on my way to Athens on Sunday.

In the “You can’t make this up if you tried” department, I ordered a Frommers guidebook on Iceland as part of my research for a graduation trip for my daughter next year. Amazon sent me the cover of the book. No pages, just a flat cover. It is the cover that would have been wrapped around the pages of the book, so there is that. Now I get to return that fucking piece of cardboard to them. I reordered the book through Target, because God knows that what the hell Amazon has in their warehouse these days. I know the world is going faster and faster these days, but Jesus Christ, how the hell does just the cover of a book get sent out from the publisher? Someone must have been drunk on the job that day, and then Amazon’s robots dutifully ship that shit out.

    • Steve says:

Wait, they sent you just the dust jacket? Wow.

Morning chores done. Cleaning up the shop, replacing a tire on a 2 wheeled cart, attempting to change the low beam on the new scoot- bulb not bad, no fuse in the circuit, all controlled by the computer. Even tried a “soft reboot” by pulling the battery. On to the next step- BMW forum!

      • David says:

Not even the dust jacket, but instead what’s supposed to be the cover of a paperback book. It’s totally insane.

Try asking ChatGPT if you don’t find an immediate answer in the BMW forum.
