It’s a new month so of course the blog is responding at a sloth’s pace. #frustrating

I spent a good amount of time yesterday harvesting and either preserving or composting. A had a lot of huge okra pods, and unfortunately am not ready to find alternative ways of using them so they were composted. Surprisingly I picked a dozen small ones to eat for lunch, and about a third of them were extremely woody so they also hit the compost bin.

Wordle: three, my starter was SPADE

    Wordle in 3.

Both a sad and happy day yesterday. Lots of hugs and handshakes. Considering what I have on my plate around the farm, I think I’m just shifting my work South.

Mexican and a margarita to celebrate last night. I “could” have driven home, but why, as Debbie was willing.

A haircut and chores later.. and a bike ride.

    • If your life is anything like mine, which since you are married is unlikely, you will wonder how you ever managed to find the time to go to work since you have so many chores to do every day. Enjoy them all!

LOL, I take it you usually drive everywhere? Since they took away Kevin’s ability to drive I am the only driver in our house. I like it!

“they” took away Kevin’s ability to drive –
        tell us more!!!

        • Jenka says:

I didn’t tell you this? I guess I forgot to mention it. Kevin has a permanent eye condition that has deteriorated to the point where he is legally blind. The eye doc finally said he can’t drive sometime in the spring.

          • Barb says:

wow – that’s too bad for Kevin – but I guess if you like to drive….. I hate driving

          • Wow, I wondered how he lost his driving privileges. That is too bad for Kevin.

I love driving, just not ITP.

          • Jenka says:

I do like to drive, I don’t have a 6 speed standard shift with a turbo engine for nothing! But really it was a relief when he stopped because it was so scary being in the car when he drove. So I like it because it’s safer for me to drive. But I don’t like long drives, thus the fact that I live 2 miles from work.

I am also having a haircut today! Does that mean I can also retire?!

    Welcome to retirement, Steve.
AKA “Nobody will pay me to do anything….”

Prepare for “all this free time you have now” to be overwhelmed by interests (and responsibilities) you never realized you had.

Somehow, 24 hours a day is just not enough.

Today is (literally) the first day of the rest of your life.
    Make it a good day.

Fiddler on the Roof was AMAZING. It was a partnership with the Atlanta Opera and holy crap, they can sing! An excellent production all the way around. We had a mediocre meal at Saints + Council beforehand. I got the spicy mussels and they smelled OFF. I ate a couple of them and they did not taste right. UGH.

Happy first day of retirement, Steve!

  6. “Prize Winning” eggplant, it looked stunning hanging on the plant, has a hole in the bottom. If I find a worm/caterpillar living in it when I cut it open I will be rather miffed. The eggplant is currently in the refrigerator since I have no desire to eat eggplant today.

The college girl look is oversized sweatshirt & short shorts.
We are dropping my mom’s wedding dress off at the community college merchandising apparel & design department. They make things from the fabric.
